I read a variety of authors, but right now tho come to mind. Janet Evanovich and Nora Roberts.
I like the Stephanie Plum series from Janet Evanovich. Her character is fun to read and I just like her style. Whenever I've read a book in that series they were the type of book that I didn't want to put down.
I like Nora Roberts creativity. The Fairy Tale settings that she has. The one thing that has irritated me at times is that she seems to be a bit repetitive in how the couples interact.
I also like her JD Robb books. I've only read a few of those, but I intend to read more.

Well I am very picky as far as who I read. But I do have my favorites and will try new authors if they are recommended to me. So to answer your discussion my favorite authors are: Mary Higgins Clark, Carol Higgins Clark, VC Andrews, John Grisham, Dan Brown, JK Rowling, and just recently started to read books by James Patterson. There may be a few other authors but they are not coming to my mind.

My absolute favorite is Neil Gaiman, but I also like Anne Rice, Poppy Z. Brite, and older Stephen King. I haven't really gotten into new Stephen King books.
Also, I really like Philip Pullman, though I haven't read much of his stuff yet. But he has a nice writing style, thus far. :)

Oh gosh, there are so many. :D I love JK Rowling, Robert Heinlein, Larry Niven, Robert Jordan, David Eddings, Michael Crichton, Anne McCaffrey, Jack Whyte. That's probably 1/3. I just can't remember them all. And, I'm too lazy to go look at my bookshelves. :D
