Do you buy your clothes alone?

Dear friends...whenever you buy clothes, do you prefer going all alone or you take someone along with you, say your friend, relative or spouse to buy clothes for you? I feel it is always better if there are two persons to select clothes...it gives wider opinion and choice.I always go along with my wife to buy clothes either for my self, herself or kids and we end up buying up quality and choicest clothes for us.
What about you?

Myself and my family are not fashion conscious and therefore, my son uses my pants which suits him exactly. Many a times, my inlaws send shirts and pants which suits me exactly and I have no hesitation. Although there is a saying that "dress makes the man', whatever dress I have, I make a neat presentation of myself.

I normally buy clothes solo. I have gone shopping with my husband and I never seem to like the choices he makes but if I go alone then I can normally find something that both he and I like. I am a jeans or shorts type of girl with a t-shirt and my hair in a ponytail so my clothes shopping is pretty simple. I have skirts and blouses but those are reserved for special times like family get together or date night with my husband. I also go solo on clothes shopping because daddy watches the kids and I get mommy time yah!!!!

Nope, I never go shopping alone because I have absolutely terrible taste! I can remember one particular dress I bought, which I loved to pieces, a low necked zebra print number (which actually showed NO flesh) which a workmate tried to take back to the shop for me.
I have dyspraxia and I have very little colour or shape intelligence, so I take someone with me and they tell me if I look human in what I have chosen. It may sound pathetic that a 50 year old woman needs this kind of help but we live in a visual world and if I want to get a bank loan, job, or something else advantageous I have to look like a sensible human being and not as if I have just leaped in and grabbed the brightest clashing clothes I can find.
I am very grateful to the friends who help me, but we do have a lot of laughs when I try on some of the things I think suit me.

I usually go by myself to pick out my clothes. Only because I take forever to make up my mind, and by the time I finally do decide, if I have someone with me they are giving me the dirtiest of dirty looks. LOL So it's much safer being on my own when I am on a clothes shopping spree. Plus I can take all the time I want without feeling guilty.

I usually buy my own clothes alone. I usually visit many outlets before deciding on anything so as to minimize compulsive buying on my part. But except of course if someone will offer me to buy clothes, then I will really choose to be with somebody. I hope that soon there will be some offer from friends for a free shopping spree.

throuhout my whole life as of now, i have been accompanied by two ppl. one is my mother and another my spouse. as you know the latter is a far fetched possibility now, i only have my mother left. my mother accompanies me whenever i am into big time shopping, i mean, when my budget is high. she doesn't rely on me. lol..
but for shopping on small scale i go alone. i prefer to choose my own stuff and have my way instead of having it forced by someone. there is some exception though.
i really appreciate your way, deepak. its wise to take your spouse and others for better choice of opinion. but , as you know, its my compulsion that apart from my mom, no one could actually help me shopping. and shopping is really fun with kids around!!
happy shopping.

So my basic idea gets justified by your reply. It is always better to take someone along...for getting a second opinion. I think, if the person accopanying you (in your case your mother, in my case my spouse) know about you and your taste...she would give a sound advice, when you decide on a cloth. I have rarely felt that choice of my spouse forced upon me....if happens sometime...but I feel the person who is watching you wearing clothes can be a better judge regarding your appearance...than you yourself.
Thanks for a quality response.
Have a Nice Day!

Im quite indecisive at times so if I am buying something that is a little costly then I would want to have someone to consult before making the purchase. Usually I buy stuff with my mom, and even if our preferences ins styles vary at times I still ask her opinion. Sometimes I ask my brother just to have an idea of how guys think of it, and he does the same.

I can buy my clothes alone, but i really rather go and buy them with my mother or a friend of mine.
My reason is that i want them to view their opinion on how i look with the new cloth.
They never lie to me, and i know that i can really relay on their opinion.

Never i have gone alone for shopping.I will take either my family members or friends when shopping for clothes but the choice is always mine if its for my wearing.
But defintly i will ask whether my choice is good with whomever i have accompanied with.Sometimes i will buy the choice of others if i find that suits my taste.

Hi DPK, i am just like you then, i prefer to have someone with me specially my husband so that he can give me an idea and his opinion as well! Last year i went for shopping alone and when i came back home; my husband started to complain that i have chosen the wrong colour or the clothes doesnt fit me... and he will surely point out that i have spend too much or this one is too expensive!!!! Anyway since that i prefer he accompanies me!

In my oppinion I like to shop for clothes alone. I wont take my husband with me anymore he gets too inpatient. Its like having a child with me. Can we leave now? And if I bring a friend its always oh lets stop here or lets get something to eat. I dont like to be interrupted.

The thing is, lol, I seldom buy clothes. I am not some "shopping freak" so I rarely get anything.
In fact for the new year, my Mum was so mad at me for not getting new clothes to wear that she went and bought some for me.
It's a good thing that I managed to fit inside those clothes haha. :P

right now i like to do it alone. I am overweight and i chose cloths accoringly to hide and camoflauge as much of my weight i can. It seems that if there are someone else around and they are picking up things to suggest to me and it isnt the style that i am looking for i feel bad to tell them that i am not interested in the item they picked and though it may be a nice peice i just dont feel that i would look good in it. so i try to go by myself not that i have gone cloths shopping in a really long time. But just maybe soon.

My husband doesn't like shopping. So most of the time, I prefer to go alone when I need to buy clothes. Normally I will buy clothes for myself, my spouse and also our baby son. I am the only person who will make the decision which is good and which is not for the three of us. I do take times to decide and always go and search, and sometimes it takes me 2-3 trips to the shopping mall just to buy clothes. Yes, it is good if you bring at least another person with you. He or she will definitely help you to decide which is good and saves your time. But I feel more freedom whenever I go alone as no one will disturb me when I want to make my decision on what to buy!

Well if you ask my opinion there should be at least one friend he will judge the outfits you wear or give u an idea of what you should wear and what suits best on you.
