The most common causes of constipation are poor diet and lack of exercise. A medical history and physical exam may be the only diagnostic tests needed before the doctor suggests treatment. In most cases, following these simple tips will help relieve symptoms and prevent recurrence of constipation: Eat a well-balanced, high-fiber diet that includes beans, bran, whole grains, fresh fruits, and vegetables. Drink plenty of liquids. Exercise regularly. Set aside time after breakfast or dinner for undisturbed visits to the toilet. Do not ignore the urge to have a bowel movement. Understand that normal bowel habits vary. Whenever a significant or prolonged change in bowel habits occurs, check with a doctor.

Laxatives will have a rebound effect if you use them all the time. Try getting at least an hour exercise every day, even if its only walking. and eat a tablespoonful of bran every day. Also drink sugared juices since fruit sugar has a natural laxative effect, and if you are taking any narcotic meds, stop for a week if possible, they cause constipation. other than that, the only thing I can suggest is to go to the doctora nd get his help

You need more fiber in your diet. Have you considered eating some whole grain products, like rolled oats, whole wheat, etc. Also raspberries are quite good as is any type of fruit. Oh and believe it or not, chocolate (dark chocolate) works for some people. Also get more exercise. That might help. If not, see your doctor.
