well just as I suspected she never showed up- so now the judge had put a bench warrant out for her arrest- which means that until she does something wrong like steal or get pulled over for speeding or something they probably won't arrest her.. The said they would contact me when they have her in custody........so I won't be seeing that money anytime soon.
Oh well- they tried-I will say that much for them- the cop had the tape and took a taped statement from the cashier who was working at the station next to this girl- I'm not expecting much now that she didn't show. Although this will cause problems for her later down the road- it doesn't do much for my morale.

Thats sad , it was probably her first offense or maybe even another one that would lay her in jail.
No you probably won`t see any money cause she`ll most likely get jail time regardless now .
I`m sorry you are going through this , I hope everything works itself out .
I`m Glad the cop did his job , but now its up to the other cops to apprehend her .
Well, I hope she just forgot about it and turns herself in .
That may be the only chance you have to seeing your money ...
Let`s hope !!!

If there is proof that she stole your money- I guess I don't understand why she isn't being arrested? larceny- Maybe I'm naive in thinking that if you do wrong- and get caught- you pay the price for it- Commit the crime do the time- And what about your money?? Doesn't make alot of sense to me- Wishing you luck that she does something wrong soon so you can get your cash back!

they have the video as proof- but they did arrest her and when they brought her in she said there was no money in the envelope- the video only shows an envelope- you can't see the money. So I guess they released her and she was supposed to show up in court to defend herself but never did.

I don't understand. she supposed to show up, she is the suspect and yet she got the bench warrant? was the video not clear enough to show that she did steal the money? anyway this is bad news for sure. but you're right at least they did something. I hope things will clear up for you soon.

This is how royal52gens explains it.....
Since this case involves an amount of money less than $1,000, It is handled differently from case over $1,000. That is the difference between Grand Theft and (I think it is called) Larceny. I could be wrong. The bench warrant means she will be arrested when found. It does not mean that an "All Points Bulletin" has been issued. They are looking for her but not as aggressively as someone who robbed a bank.

oh I see, but at least they are looking for her. so that's the limit $ 1000. to me $ 50 is already big, because our weekly grocery is only a little over $ 50 on average. but well that's the law you have there. wish for the best for your case anyway

Ok I do not understand that why can't they arrest her for stealing the Money? I mean she was suppose to show in court for that so why do they have to wait now till she does something else wrong? I really do not understand that at all

Sorry to hear that but don't give up. People like that get greedy and careless. Se thinks she got away with it this time so I bet she'll do it again.

Well I'm sorry she didn't turn up, and I can understand you feel a bit down about it, but at least the ordeal of the court appearance is now over for you. Pour yourself a stiff drink and try and forget about it:-))

I know you feel shortchanged that justice was not served today but don't worry, sooner or later, the girl who stole your money will be in deep trouble once she will be arrested and brought to court. No one can hide for so long from the law.

I have met several people who swindled or stole from others. They have no remorse as to what they have done. I feel for the victims of these criminals. While the wheels of justice may be slow, sooner or later, that girl will be brought to court and justice will be served. You will be vindicated once she will be arrested. Just take good care of yourself. God bless.

I hate it when bad things happen to good people. Assuming you are a good person, I would only encourage you to do the right thing. It may seem that you are getting the short end of the stick, but that money will come back to you some other way. Guarantee it.

thank you- I like to think that I am a good person- I try to help friends and family and even people I don't know whenever I can- I would never do what this girl did. My parents always said things like "how would you feel if someone did that to you" when I was being mouthy as a kid - and it always stuck with me- and I always treat people as would want to be treated.
And thank you for the support- I hoep that money will come back someday- I am backlogged on everything now.

I am sorry that she didnt show up, however i have no doubt that she will get arrested again and also held responsible for what she has done to you. Sure - u might have to wait a little longer - but still - justice will be served!

I am sorry to hear about your money being stolen and it doesn't say much for justice when you are not seeing anything done about this .
I was always under the impression that when one didn't show up for court they were automatically guilty and charged .
What a waste of your time and all for nothing . I am really sorry to hear about this and hopefully they will catch her down the road sometime and you will have the justice you deserve .
Take Care !!

Now that she has failed to appear before the court the first time, the judge will not tend to be lenient. So when they find her and present her to the judge, you can expect the outcome of the case to lean in your favor. Be patient. Things will work out the way they are meant to.

Oh honey I am sorry. I think they should arrest her and make her pay you back every penny plus interest.
Well at least she will be arrested down the road. I hope they can get her soon.
I guess look on the bright side, (at least you do know what happened to your money) I don't know what to say.
I lost some money once, and I never found out if it was stolen or if I really just lost it. I looked for days for it. Made me so mad. It was around $300 dollars and that is alot to me.
