Anyone who is judging of others, isn't living the Christian life, because we are told not to judge, that we are too look at our own lives before we look at anothers. The only one that should judge is God. We are taught to be tolerant and loving towards others.

..most Muslims are not jihadists, tho. Are most wars are religious? Many are defense from an invader... Even religious wars aren't so much 'religious' as a power struggle, a misunderstanding -which fallen angels (and human nature) aggravate on both sides and maybe they're aggravating now religion hatred, by using the actions of a few - there's good and bad apples in every group and kind, not just one group or kind.. but the human race keeps falling for that one over and over.. [the blame game, that is, instead of realizing there's good and bad in all groups. We're all guilty, it's a human nature thing, not a race, nation, or religion thing :))

I totally agree with you tlbf! Religion teaches that it's tolerent and you shouldn't judge, but most religion's history says otherwise. Most wars, whether it's the crusades or a jihad, are caused by religion.

Everyone has a right to their own opinion, their religion has nothing to do with it.
Who is Ann Coulter?

There is no violence in christanity. The basic principle of christanity is love. If one is against he also must be love.Hatred comes fron evil and that can not coexist with God.The only sign of a christian is love. If you are not loving you are not a christian.

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?" - Matthew 7:1-3
"Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." - Luke 6:36-38

I wish all the Christian world could live by these. It would make it so much a better place to live.

That's it in a nutshell. It is hard for some Christians not to judge sinners. It is very easy for them to tell someone they are going to Hell then shun them. I don't think that is what Jesus had in mind. I think the "love your neighbor as your brother" part should be the main basis of all religions.

You are free to oppose as long as you dont tag the word 'violent'. That word itself reeks of violence!
Leave alone christians, any truly religious person does not 'violently' oppose someone else's opinion. It is only the Zealots or the fanatics who do!

Firstly I have to say that I do not think we are religious at all when we violently oppose someone else's opinion. Being a Christian doesn't come into it at all, because this sort of thing relates to all religions.
People are individuals and they are entitled to their own opinion, and in the free world they can express it as long as it isn't treasonable. Sadly, not everyone lives in a democracy and some nations do not allow their people to express an opinion that differs from the 'official line'.
To your original question, I do not believe that anyone who uses violence if they oppose someone else's opinion is practicing their religious teachings and nor are they a good citizen of the world.

Good thought here. I sometimes have often wondered the same thing, or wondered how can a Christian be a Christian and be so judgemental or be almost Racist in their judgements and statements of others.
I know in the Bible Jesus Loved everyone no matter what they did, and we should follow his example if we are Christians and expect to be able to make it back to Heaven. To me, Christians who do this, need to remember no one on Earth is perfect, and what if it was them walking in their shoes?

I am a Christian, and even if I do not agree with someone elses oppinion, that gives me no right to judge them, or act like I am better than them. I have seen many who do this, and this is the reason many are turning against god is because of being judged here on Earth. The only one who is ruler over us, and can judge us for our thoughts and actions is Jesus himself, and if the World would realize this, what a better place overall, this would be.

There are good and bad people within all religions and it's not fair to judge a lot of people by the actions of others.

Thank's for candidly raising such a topic for discussion. Frankly, I am a Hindu by birth, but brought up with great respect for the Church and Christianity due to the schools I studied in. I hope it is fine if I participate in what appears to be a discussion for Christians only!Among all religions in existence today, the most material & scientific advancement over the last 5 centuries has been shown by people of Christianity, be they Europeans or later, Americans. All science & technology, existing or new, is expressed/described/developed in English, which most people regard as synonymous with the Church (Christianity). As a result of the new technologies developed by the Christian countries, they are now controlling all political, military and financial power in the world. As a result, it is natural that Christians feel a sense of being the torch-bearers of human progress.
Christians, I feel, violently oppose opinions that go against the grain of their religion and its development in the current world. This is to be expected - it is only human to feel so.
Unfortunately, the sense of righteousness should be kept in check and constantly be re-evaluated lest Christian peoples should make irreverible mistakes in contemporary world history (e.g. Iraq invasion, controlling sanctions against nations, Veto power in the security council, etc).
In my opinion, one can't live one's religion 'truly' as you put it. One can only do one's best in following the tenets of one's religion to the best of one's ability & circumstances. If one were able to 'truly' live according to the principles of one's religion, one would have to be 'God' himself!

why!Jesus himself reacted violently when he opposed something!
-(Matt.21:12 Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves.
Mk.11:15 On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple area and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves,
Jn.2:15. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. )

no it is not right to violently oppose someone elses view...but that doesnt mean u have to keep quiet...what we have to understand is that opinions r formed by people after a lot of thought...when we violently oppose them we r hurting them...try to make them understand peacefully what we think about the concerned issue....u dont know maybe the other person might change ur views about the subject

Jesus christ himself had serious discussions with his disciples on many matters. I think discussions to bring about clarity are not in any way non-christian but abusing persons when you should be debating their ideas is no-no not only for christians but for all civilised people.
