Do you rush the red light when you cross the road?

I am sorry to say that sometimes I do if there is no bus running back and forth. I mean, in a street that is not busy at all in my town, Anji, but not in a big city. I never do that in a city for I know it is more dangerous to behave like that. You are right to say that they are probably people without very good quality. I am just that kind of people sometimes, but not always. I will try to be a better citizen. Meanwhile, I am happy for you to be aware of and keep traffic regulations. You are a good example I have to learn from.

Here people also don't follow the traffic light. However, sometimes I can't blame it. As no matter it's green or red light, sometimes you just can't across the street. So when you have a chance, then just go ahead. If I can have no problem to pass the street when it's green light, I won't dare to do it. But the fact is you can't depend on the traffic light.

If the light turns yellow then I hurry and speed through it so I don't get caught in it when it is red. I hate stopping at red lights.

Theres never a time where I will go through a red light. A lot of my friends and some family who have gotten into bad car accidents and it kind of made me aware that I could actually get hurt. I take my time when I am driving, and am very cautious. Also, I can't afford a ticket! Thats the last thing I need in my stack of bills.

I cross the road when it is clear, regardless it is red, green or blue light. In my opinion, it doesn't mean that crossing only when it is safe to cross (green man appear). Accidents too can happen when it is supposed to take place. Who can expect that I will be knocked by a motorcycle while crossing a pedestrain crossing. I wasn't jay walking in the first place.

I can relate to that :) even in our country, people do beat the red light when crossing. Not only people but vehicles too. Whats worse, even traffic enforcers do that... the government here is not that strict to implement rules and regulations properly. I think we all need discipline to cross at the right time and at the right place. You are absolutely correct, it causes accidents. And its for our safety.

In our country too, people rush at the red light and i dont understand why do they do that. it is so risky. i never do that. its better and safe to wait for a moment and then move on than to rush and risk your life and also pay the ticket. neither me nor my hubby have ever broken any rules . he is a lawyer by profession and has practised in High Court, Supreme court. he is a person of rules and regulations.

no, I do not. I think it is irresponsible driving to do so. I generally stop when the light is yellow - unless it turns as I am too close to stop already.

As for me , it's a definite NO. I am patient at traffic light points and I hate people who violate those rules .Mad rush would only bring in disasters . Why shouldn't we avoid them ?

i don't drive,but my brother does this all the time,and i'm always yelling at him for it. i told him if he wants to risk his life like an idiot,do it when I'M not in the car.

I am sorry to say yes.and actually I can not follow the light to take my road,I do not know when should I go or not.so I think maybe I should learn the cource once again.

Well mainly most the time I wait for the light to turn green but hey if I was in a hurry I would rush and make my way across safely but most the times I end up waiting for the green light, it also makes it safer too.

I would wait. There are too many dangerous drivers out there that don't care or watch for others.

It is difficult to be a pedestrian or driver around here. Walking is dangerous here. You start to cross the street when you have the right of way and then the light turns while you are in the middle of the street. So many drivers around here run red lights that the city set up cameras to catch them. I dont usually walk along any street here if I can avoid it. Much too dangerous.

I try to be a good boy and obey the rules. So normally I will wait for the green man. Sometimes though, you know, I might get carried away. But that's that. :P

I have seen many peoples especially my own friends when they are in bikes just rush even if the red light is on.They just dont wait for the green to come in.They have a calculation in mind when the red will go off and green will come in.And they just rush in before that calculated time just ends.Once my friend's bike has collided with someone else bike because of this problem where the other guy also calculated like my friend.
