Marking good response rather than best response....

I always find that there are more than one responses which are appealing to me. Some members respond after some days of the discussion being started. When I find one response appealing from the various responses I mark it as the 'best response'. But later some members respond in a much better way which is more appealing to me. Now I feel very bad for not marking this response as the best. So, I think there must be a facility to mark some as good responses and one amongst them as the best response. What do you think...Have you come across such a situation???? Do share your views....

Well of course i have. But that shouldn't make you feel bad at all....If you mark a best response, then it's great. And if afterwards you see another which you find even better, well just say thank you to that person and be sure that one day that second person will be the best response in another post that you start....not a big deal really mate.

Yeah, thats a great idea not to feel bad. As stated by Eskarena1 we even have the plus sign to rate the response. That's a great thing to show our courtesy to the members who have responded at a later stage but with a grater appeal. Thank you for responding.

Yes, very true. I hadn't thought of the plus sign beside the comment. But the best response is ultimate and everyone would like to be given a best response, right? Thank you for responding.

well that is your opinion but me, if in opinion the responder has the best response then I mark it as best response...everybody has unique preferences and that should be the main focus as to what each person's prefernces...by knowing this you can respond accordingly and when lucky yous response get selected ... so i think each and everyone of us has unique preference in chossing the best response.

Dear bkneerajrk
I agree that this things happen here on mylot. I used to take a great time to consider which response should get a best response from my side .. just to get this problem solved. I know there are many members who used to visit and see our responses later .. so that's why it's better to not to give best response .. I used to give best response very soon .. but now .. I have changed my theory to overcome this problem .. sometimes when there is just one single response to my discussion then I have no choice .. and so I give best response to that response:)

Yes, waiting is the only solution if there are responses being uploaded frequently. I think I got to change my theory too....Thank you for responding..

Yes I have definitely done this. I think every one has! I don't get too upset about it though it isn't like I can change it anyway. I don't normally mark best response until there are a fair amount of responses or if no one has responded for a few days. If someone responds with a better response after that I just think that it was too bad they waited so long to respond. I will thank them and tell them it was a really good response but I don't worry about it. :)

I am not upset or very serious about the responses but I sure do feel a bit bad for not marking the response which was given after a long time when I had already marked a response as best. Waiting for some more days before marking would be the solution. Thank you for responding.
