where i work, Friday is the holiest day of the week. everyone looks at the clock and pray very hard for it to go faster to 5:30PM. some start to meditate with eyes close an hour before 5:30PM while others start checking the happenings in town on the local papers religiously for that evening. other started clearing their tables as if they are about to celebrate mass.
is Friday a Holy day? for all the religions in my company, YES!

Muslims have Friday as their holy day.
Jews have Friday as their holy night and Saturday as their holy day.
Christians have Sunday as their holy day.
Catholics have many special days on Fridays. There is a custom of attending mass on the first Friday of each month, and some do not eat meat on Fridays
Every day is holy day for Hindhus. For each god there is special Holiday.
Lord venkateswara Saturday
Lord Hanuman Tuesday, Saturday
Lord lakhsmi Friday
Lord siva Monday.

Friday is often associated with the purity and divinity of God powers, therefore it is the holy day in almost all the religions

The only friday I have ever considered a holy day was on good friday before Easter. I am Christian and the days I have been taught as holy is sunday's. That is the day that I was taught in my religion that we are suppose to put everything a side and relax and take the time to worship.

No, as a Christian I don't consider Friday a holy day. Sunday is our day of rest and going to church. Well, I can't speak for all Christians, I'm a Baptist and that Sunday is our day of worship. I would like to learn more about other religions, I'll be following your topic.

I am also Hindu, but Friday is nothing special here. Infact all the days are holy in one or the other aspect. Wednesday is the best day to buy new things or inaugurate new places. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday are also good days.
Why do you call friday as a holy day in hinduism. What is special about that day? Please let me also know.

in judaism the holy day is saturday.. not friday..

It is a most waited for day of the week for many Americans since they will have the following two days off. I have never heard of it being a religious day though.

I don't know about all the religions but yeah it is a Holy day in Islam so we call the Friday as the king of the all days of the week.
