I only use planes to get to far away destinations quickly. I don't like flying very much. Before I began using Ear Planes, a device in my ears that helps, I had much pain. The longest flights I like to break up with stopovers. For example Hong Kong and Singapore when on the way to Australia.
When I reach my destination I love to travel by train. This is my favourite type of transport. By day I enjoy looking out of the window at the passing scenery. By night it is lovely to sleep in a comfortable train compartment. Waking up in a new destination is always exciting. The longest train trips I have done are through beautiful Sweden, seeing all the lovely lakes to Narvik in Norway, and from Brisbane to Cairns in Australia, seeing all the sugar cane fields. That trip, all in the same state as it is so large, took 36 hours. My dream is one day to go on the Trans Siberian Railway.
If a country does not have a train service where I wish to go I choose to go by bus. I prefer to stop off every few hours. If it is a very uncomfortable and bumpy journey I can begin to feel a bit travel sick. I had some very rough bus journeys in Sumatra.
If travelling by boat is convenient I choose to do this once I am in a destination. I would not like to do a cruise from my home country though. I think I would feel that not enough time was spend at each port of call. I prefer to be an independent traveller rather than one that likes being organized by a company.
I really enjoy walking and cycling. I took my bike to Holland and enjoyed cycling round pretty villages, past beautiful canals and had the bonus of no hills. Elsewhere I have tended to hire a bike, like I did when I was in the Seychelles. Cycling from one gorgeous beach to the next, was wonderful, so too was doing some snorkelling. I can't travel far by swimming, but I can go quite a distance with snorkelling equipment on.

Hi, tracy1985.
Yeah, train is good and we can enjoy the scenery out of the window.
As for me, I prefer private car(although I'm still a student and don't have my own car^_^). It's convenient for us whenever we wanna go and wherever to have a rest and enjoy the sightseeing somewhere.
Have a nice day! :)

Hey t1985,
I would love to take a trip by train the closest I've come to that is the ATL airport had like a subway train. I prefer car- I like being able to see the sights while I'm getting to my destination & sometimes we just go out for drives for the heck of it.

I would love to fly. But with all the BS at the airports, it is no fun anymore. I took a bus trip from Houston to Phoenix about five years ago. It wasn't too bad. I rode a train occasionaly when I was a kid. There are no passenger trains that go through here on any kind of regular service here. I miss that.

I think each of these modes of travel got its good and bad side! In my country we do not have train but i have travel in train in other countries and i like it a lot. I would say that i prefer the car! The car is so comfortable and also whenever i am tired i can stop the car and rest a bit and then continue the journey! I havent chosen the bus since i hate travelling in bus; its too crowded and not so comfortable. The airplane is for some special days so this one i would use it for holidays hehehe

hello there tracy 1985, my friend. The mode of transportation will depend on
where we will be travelling to. If it is only on adjacent province or cities, bus travel will surely be made since that is the only means of travelling. But if we will be going to another city within the country but in another archepelago, then we will need to travel either by boat or plane. Now, if we are in a hurry like maybe business meetings, then I have to take a plane. But if otherwise,we usually take a boat.

I tried to post to this when I saw it earlier today.
(More like early this morning) lol
I wouldn't use a bus if my local service and I wouldn't be able to use a car (don't own one or have a licence) I wouldn't travel by plan (heights, not a good thing)
Train is fun though hehe

This depends on the destination and purpose of the journey. If it is within a short distance like say 100 kilometers we will go by car. But if the distance is much and one involving just a nights journey we will go by bus. If it is more than that train is more convenient. Air travel comes to consideration only if the journey is to abroad or the matter is too urgent.

It depend on my time.
If i have a time and do not hurry, I prefer Car and train because they take me through many countries and towns. When time is important for me and I am bussy for several works, i prefer airplane.
