Thank you means so much to me. It shows appreciation, just two small words really evoke a happy feeling inside me. I use it whenever someone does anything for me. What is your opinion? Do you use it? Do you get upset if someone doesn't say it to you?

I use it all the time, and when I am with my grandsons, they use it too! There is no reason not to use it..It sure does make me feel good when I say Thank you...I do get upset if others don't say it...Sometimes I will say, "you're welcome" and then the person will say, "thank you". Not always but sometimes...

I use it all the time. It's the way I was brought up. It does bother me if someone else doesn't use it. It doesn't take much energy to say it and it is being polite when you do. It is all down to whether or not the person has any manners. I am always polite and it irks me when other people can't or just won't be.

I agree. I always like to say "Thank You". It seems that noone cares any more. to me it a very well manner to say it I was brought up saying thank you when someone give me something or done something for me as I have taught my daughter the same. I feel happy when someone says Thank You. :) Sometimes it don't bother me if they don't say thank youbut I do feel appreciated. Have a great day my friend.

I think the words thank you are very important words. But we live in such an ungrateful society these days. Everyone thinks you owe them something. Parents don't teach their children about respect anymore. If someone gives you something, say thankyou! I always make sure I even wave my hand if someone lets me over on the road when I have to get over. If I let someone over and they don't wave, it angers me. Or if I do something for someone and they don't say thankyou it upsets me as well. Its like what I did doesn't even matter to the person.

I was talking about this very subject with some friends the other day, it seems a lot of young people today just don't think it is important these today to express thanks, they just seem to take everything for granted, it seems to be a forgotten thought, sad as it is.

Yes, I do agree with you. However, I have met an awful lot of older people that do not have these manners either.

I do not usually get upset if I am not thanked, unless the person is a close friend. On the other hand, I feel really blessed when they do. One place it is hard to say thank you, is when you have a compliment. It is not uncommon, if a person is complimented, that you will hear them stumbling around for a response, or saying something negative about whatever has just been complimented. "I like your dress" "This old thing", the right thing to say when you have been complimented is "Thank you".

I really appreciate it when someone does something for me so I pretty much say a heartfelt thank you every time. I like hearing people say it to me to when I've done something for them. It's sort of a warm little feeling inside. I don't get upset if someone doesn't say it to me though I just might not be so willing to help them out next time! So, yes, I guess that means it bothers me if someone doesn't say it to me.

i get very upset if I don't hear someone say thank you which is a lot unfortunately . I always say thank you and don't think it's asking too much to get the same in return.

Proper manners seems to becoming a thing of the past..now of course I will say thank you for something and the same with my friends who will say thank you to me--but it goads me no end how people will not say thank you...it doesn't take that long to say it, does it? I'm talking about times when I'll open a door for someone, especially if it's a woman with a stroller needing a door opened for her--so I do that and the woman just walks by...uh, well, in my sweet, low demur voice (NOT)..I say YOU'RE WELCOME--now someimes then the person will say Thank you..but you know how many times they don't?

What is happening in the world? It is so sad to see people rush, no manners or social skills anymore. Thank you for your comments. Have a great evening sugar.

Hi margieanneart! I do not expect a thank you if i have done anything. If a friend says thanks to me i feel bad because i have done it because i wanted to do it and it is my responsibility as a friend. Well if it is a stranger a 'thank you' is okay with me.

I use thank you all the time when someone does something for me. I think is very polite to say thank you when someone helps you with something or gives you something or does anything nice for you. Saying thank you is a sign of respect to the other person as well as being polite. Sometimes we may forget to say thank you because we may be too excited but if a person continously did not say thank you then I would have to reconsider helping them or remind them they should say thank you.
