Ok as you all know we had Thunder and Lightening this morning and I am scared of it
Well I could not keep concentrated on here, I did not want to hide under the Bed, so guess what I did? I phoned the Kids lol and they had to talk to me on the Phone for an hour hehehehe
I still jumped every time it happened and the Kids could hear by my Voice when it did lol as it went a bit High pitched I think,
Well it is over now and I hope it is not COMING BACK
If it would have been night and I was in Bed I would have been under the Cover with a Teddy lol
Oh and what did we talk about for an hour, well when I get nervous I talk and talk about anything lol I think they where a bit relieved when it was over hahahaha

I have to admit that I seek safe harbour if I am caught outside in a storm as I am a very unlucky person and terrified at the prospect of a lightning strike.
The only worries I have when indoors are if the storm is electrical and I have to turn the computer off for a while or if there is flash flooding.
I am sorry you were so alarmed by it all, you should be really safe where you are, and it is a good job the kids were in, yes?

Honestly! YOU are worse than a kid! You should have waited for a nice surprise when you get there, I don't know. At least I managed to surprise you totally with my small offering. tut tut, I can see we are going to have to teach kiddies to spread red herrings when talking about pressies, indeed we are . . .
Still, I should imagine that nice chat has totally wiped out the horrible storm and that can only be a good thing.

I'm like that with tornados - I'm fine with thunder and lightening, actually get a kick out of watching but tornadoes have me on the edge until all danger is past.
LOL - I also do the same thing, talk and talk and talk about anything in the world. Just wait until first warning we get - I'll be kicking some butt posting on myLot :)

Really bad thing about tornado season is the best protection, safest place, is in the basement - and I don't like basements although here in the new living space the basement is finished and not so clostrophobic. Disadvantage is I'm on the second floor 99% of the time (last place to be in tornado).
Am starting to get settled and working on new 'schedual' as to when I do what - bad thing is the weather has be gorgious and I'm loving being outside working on garden and flower beds that have been neglected for the last couple years. Grandkids helped me put some of my favorite or frequently used books on bookshelves in the loft last night - it's really starting to feel like home.

Im glad its passed and Im sure your kids are as well. As for your puppy he was of no help by the sounds. I hope you have some friends you can call incase it does come back but dont make them long distance friends it may cost you a small fortune.lol Hopefully the worst is over and sunshine is here to stay.

Gabs, next time it thunders and lightens, send it out my way. I love it. Or, emaile me, and I will talk you though it. I find it quite peaceful, funny that we both have such a different reaction to it.
Stay well, be happy, and have a great day. I will send you some dry heat of 120 degrees today. :)

So sweet gabs, I get nervous too with all the thuinder and lightening. especially when we were living in jammu and there were hills and tall trees all around. The wind swayed them too harshly andI used to get really scared. I do control my nervousness though.Only thing that freaks me out is cockroaches now. I do scream a lot and my eight year old son has to rescue me from the situation.

Tell me about it... I don't mind thunder at all; in fact, as I said in your first thunder discussion, I like to watch it when it's darker. It's quite an amazing thing, all that energy releasing from being stored up. A good time for me to collect water, too. :-)
With regards to your phoning the kids... is it not nearly always an hour of chatting? he he he. I'm amazed you were brave enough to hold the phone to your ear when the wires are likely to be zapped outside. :-) In an attempt to make you feel safer though, during thunderstorms, I would think there's very little chance of your home being struck, because of the closeness and height of the surrounding buildings and besides, if you're dry and earthed, you should be safe. It's probably more the loud noise that makes you fearful... the ferocity of the storm was quite great. We had two... so where's your other one gone? lolol
Brightest Blessings my friend... stay safe.

LOL My grandma calls and keeps me on the phone for as long as she can, talking about any old thing (what she bought at the shops, what she didn't buy, the birds in her garden etc etc). I'll be sure to check what the weather is like next time - she may have an alterior motive like you!!

Hi Gabs. Did you know using the phone in a thunderstorm is verboten. You're lucky you didn't get zapped. I used to tell my kids it was the big clouds having an argument with each other and they began to enjoy the storm and make up stories about what thjey were arguing about.
Hope you're over the stormy weather by now. Hugs.

Hi gabs. You did good talking to your kids on the phone. I used to be scared of Thunder and lightening when I was a kid but not anymore. I didn't do anything it just disappeared by itself. Here in California, it's rare that we have Thunder and Lightening. But I am moving to Denver to live there few months and I know they have some bad weather there in the winter so I'm sure they will have Thunder and lightening.

Hello Gabs,
I am having great time laughing at your misery. LOL. I just replied to your other post about thunder. Well you did well to talk to your kids that would have been reassuring. And hopefully with all the talking you were disatracted enough not to think about thunder. LOL. What jumping Gabs would like? I feel it would be good exercise, don't you think. LOL. Good luck and hope thunder doesn't come back for dear Gabs sake. Have a nice day. :)

I am glad that its over, however u do know that it is best NOT to be on the phone when the thunder is going on donĀ“t you.
I remember when I was a kid - we were never allowed to be on the phone when the thunder was ongoing and also never watch Tv. I thought they were ridicilous until something actually happened with both tv and phone during a thunderstorm.. now i NEVER use the phone =)

It was thundering and lightening all morning in our area as well this morning and I am hoping it is over as well . While it was thundering and lightning I was talking on the phone with a friend but still was worried about the fact that I was going to be hit because it was a cordless phone , I had unpluged my computer and my t.v for awhile but ended up plugging them back in .
I hate the thunder and lightning becasue I worry about fires . That is my big fear that and the fact that the lightning might get in the house because a friend of mine had a house fire this way and almost lost two of her children years ago when the lightning got in the house throgh an open window and had no way out and her children were asleep on the couch where it was bouncing back and fourth . I have always been nervous since she told me this story .

gabs i just responded to someone else who had thunder and lightening. Thats so weird. Anyways I love thunder and lightening. I can sit and watch it for hours. its so cool to see the lightening shoot across the sky. It gets me excited lol But i had a friend who was so scared of it she would hide in a closet. i felt for her . There was nothing I could say that would change her mind.
