My boyfriend and I went out to my favortie resturant tonight for dinner. In the middle of eating my chest got very heavy and I could not swallow my food or take a deep breath. As I sat there I started getting dizzy and started having a hard time breathing. I throw my credit card on the table and asked my boyfriend to go to the hostest desk and pay the bill and I went into the bathroom.
Once in the bathroom the chest tightness got worse and I could barely breath, then I started throwing up all over the place, which relieved the pressure for a minute maybe and then it came right back. This repeated over and over again.
It is now about 3 hours after the dinner and I can swallow again and I am breathing. Has anyone every experience this before? Please help.

Maybe it was from having to get stuck paying the bill. Seriously, why didn't you go to the hospital? Sounds to me, like that is where you should have gone instead of asking anyone on here what it was.

I am not a particular fond of hospitals, I plan on going to the doctor on Monday and getting an allergy test.
I have searched the internet and found that what I went through was anaphlastic reaction, it occurred to me to the hospital but sense I was still breathing and throwing up was making it better, I felt that I could wait.

Sounds like it could have been a severe allergic reaction to something you ate or drank. I would write down everything you ate and drank so in case you go to the doctor you won't forget anything. Your body changes a great deal over time so you may have developed a new allergy that you've never had before.
It also could have been a gall bladder attack. I've had some that felt like a heart attack they were so bad.
Whatever it was I'd definitely get checked out by your doctor as soon as you can. Something is wrong and it's best to find out what it is as soon as possible. It's probably nothing too serious since it passed quickly but I'm sure you don't want it to happen again if it can be prevented in the future.

yes I have - not from an allergy but from when I suffered pancreatitis. What did you have to eat? was there anything especially fatty like sausages? the only other times I have been very short of breath could not get enough air in and got real dizzy would be from severe asthma attacks - but those did not come with the heaviness in the chest nor the throwing up.
did you have a lot of pain in your shoulders, back, chest as well? were you belching loud and long burps?
