Birds are now eating at my bird feeder.

Birds - Here is a picture of a couple house finches eating at my bird feeder. They are so cute.

Yesterday morning after I arrived home from my walk at the park I noticed birds were finally eating at my bird feeder in the back. The birds that I have seen so far are both male and female cardinals, house finches, sparrows and even the robins were taking a peek. They are all beautiful birds and hope to see other kinds at some point. What birds have you seen at your bird feeders, if you have them? What kind of bird interests you the most?

Wow..glad your bird feeder is starting to produce effects;) You might want to try to get a little better snap of your camera..I don't know if it's my eyes..but I can't see the birds too well..it can be my eyes though.. I cant keep a bird feeder outside..but have been thinking about a humming bird feeder..they like sugar water..Have you ever thought of this? I have cats that come by my house outside..which I tend to give a little something..even though they are not my cats;)+

Sorry that you can not see the birds very well as it is a zoomed in picture of them so people could see them. It is nice to finally see birds enjoying the food and bath. They sometimes seem to fight over the food. I have not thought about a hummingbird feeder as the one that I have now suits all types of birds and most birds like the type of food in my feeder.

GM Ken..Hummingbird feeders can be bought for as low as 99 cents..and you really don't have to buy expensive ones.. You can buy ready made liquid or make your own with sugar and water and add a drop of red food coloring..since red seems to be their favorite color.. I love to see the hummingbirds..they are so small and their wings go as fast as bees almost..you can easily mistake them for a huge bee..if you don't look closely.. I will have a better look at your birdfeeder picture;)+

I'm so glad. It does take them awhile to get used to it.when i was in jersey,I didn't think the birdies would ever start taking advantage of my hospitality, lol. What kind of birds are you referring too? If you are referring to outdoor birds,I am totally in love with the cardinals.I also like robins and blue jays.Getting a bird feeder is gonna be one of the first things I do when i go back home.

I am very happy that they are coming to my feeder and enjoying the food. I have not seen them in the water yet but I am sure some of them have been using it. It does take a while for them to adapt. Cardinals are beautiful and have seen both the male and female the last couple of days at my feeder. We get lots of robins here as well.

I am so happy to hear that birds have started to enjoy your bird feeder. :) I personally don't have a bird feeder, but my parents do and many differnt types of birds enjoy it there (though the squirrel or two has taken them over thinking its their personal nest). hehe

It is nice to finally have birds coming to my feeder. This morning I noticed that I am now having gold finches coming to my feeder so now I am seeing more of a variety of birds and am adding some suet to my feeder as well. Squirrels love bird food and will do anything to get food from the feeder.

That' very cool buddy. I built my parents a bird house at school when I was younger. (16) I've never seen many birds use it except younger ones, hiding from cats :P I've seen quite a few I love robins, blue birds, magpies etc Any, I love seeing rare birds too :) ~Joey

That is really neat that you built your parents a bird feeder years ago. Do your parents still have it? Robins are very beautiful and will have to get some other type of food for them.

Yeah It's still attached to the tree in there back garden :) Not many things go in it but there isn't much space to place it.. Kudos!

We have a lot of birds coming to our yard as well. Some I can identify, some I have no idea what they are but I just love watching all of them. I have a hummingbird feeder and that's my favourite to watch to see if any hummingbirds come. I also have a birdfeeder with seeds but that doesn't seem to work out for me. We have a lot of squirrels and they have been messing with that particular feeder. They have managed to pull it apart twice and got all the seeds out!! I think I need to go get a different feeder. Talking about birds, we had one that laid four tiny eggs in on our of hanging plants. I watched it everyday till it finally hatched. And watched all the little babies grow and finally flew away. I was really sad when I came home to an empty nest and realised that the last of the babies are gone :(

Hi kgwat70 I am happy for you your birds have come in. I love watching birds and we dont have a feeder as such but we have red and black cockatoos and pink and grey galahs which eat the seeds of the Japanese pepper tree we have. We also get a lot of honey eaters and such.

I have really enjoyed watching the birds come to the feeder and eat away. The squirrels have also come as well but are not able to get to my feeder. Are you planning on getting a bird feeder so you can see other types of birds?

It is nice to see the birds coming to my bird feeder. The squirrels have arrived as well but they can not get to the feeder and are eating whatever falls on the ground. Hope to see other types of birds come as well.

I love to watch the birds at my bird feeder. I bet you enjoy it too. I have seen cardinals, finches and blue jays at mine. I'm not really sure what some of the other ones are. The cardinal is my favorite. I have a pair of binoculars that I use to watch the birds sometimes. Do you do that too?

It sure does not take long for birds to find the feeders. I seem to have some of the same birds as you do. but also some bluejays and chickadees.

It took several weeks for the birds to find my bird feeder. I am not sure if that is the average amount of time for them to find them or not but it is nice to see them out there now. The squirrels have arrived as well. LOL I have not seen any chickadees here yet or bluejays but maybe they will find their way.

I was very excited to finally see birds eating from the feeder as I have been waiting for a few weeks now. Now they are fighting over the feeder. Hopefully I will get to see other types of birds at some point but right now I am enjoying the cardinals, robins, sparrows and house finches.
