Do you pay more attention to spelling or grammar when you response?

I always pay attention, but I must admit that my spelling skills are very poor. As to grammer I don't pay much attention. I think my language is formidable in conveying my ideas, and I am satisfied with that. Thank you, tracy.

Yes my friend,since I am a teacher I AUTOMATICALLY get my spellings right but some times while typing I accidently press the wrong key and the spelling gets wrong-especially while working on the computor.

hi tracy, initially, my writings were full of typos and i could not really figure out as to why it happened as i was careful enough to preview my posts!! but then, things have changed now, i have become more responsible with errors. i hardy make any spellings mistake, courtesy: myLot. however, having said this, it feels awful to see spelling mistakes on the discussion topic, i still do that...silly me!

Sometimes I do since there are certain people in here in mylot who do have omething to say about proper grammer but then again if I mis spell a word or don't use proper grammer It's not like they are getting anything out of it except feeling good because they corrected me.

I usually respond with correct grammar as well as punctuation. I think it is a sign of laziness or a lack of education.

I'm obsessive with my grammar and writing and especially spelling. Also punctuation, style and proper capitalization...really, it's extreme! I've always been this way though, I love English so I've always written it out properly, no matter if I'm texting or in forums or in myLot. I do wish we had an edit button here, sometimes I catch a typo after I've posted the response and it drives me insane. I wanna fix!! Lol.

not that much since i know that some people with different nationality have grammar difficulties so i repect their post as long as i understand the essence of it.

sometimes yes, sometime no. Yes, because when you response with wrong spelling some of the readers might not understand the it, and it looks funny. No, because the eagerness to response to that discussion , i forget to check on my spelling.

i don't pay attention much on the grammar and spelling, I just give attention to the idea given on responses. We can't expect everyone to be perfect in spelling and grammar here, as we don't all speak in English. There were lots of community here in mylot from different places wherein English is not their native tongue just like me. So, pardon if my english grammar and spelling were incorrect sometimes.

I tend to pay more attention to spelling than grammar. Though I do try to use the correct grammar when responding to discussions. Spelling is one of my pet peeves. It goes right through me to see something spelled incorrectly.

Yes, while I am not saying that I have a good command in grammar and spelling, I guess it is always better to be aware of these so that my messages will be generally comprehensible to the readers.

i like you tracy1985 :) on the spelling and grammar i do sometimes have mistakes. Nobody's perfect here so its ok to have mistakes. We'll just have to make it sure that it won't happen again :)

when i respond, i pay attention to both. but you know, sometimes we commit mistakes unintentionally so it's part of the experience. next time you got things to be reminded of and effect the necessary correction in your succeeding posts or responses.

I pay as much attention to spelling and grammar in my responses here as I do anywhere else. Sure I make an occasional typo now and then, but no one is perfect. There are some people on here who, in my opinion, don't speak enough English to be understood.

Yes generally I do pay attention to my spelling and grammer, but not on grammer as much as on spelling, because I feel Its a writer's community and not a blogger's one. But I do that only if I use mozilla because it has the spelling settings, which makes it easy to find errors. but I am like you when I use IE. Its too tidious to corrections in IE. Today i'm sitting in my college lab and alas no Mozilla Firefox is there...so I'm sure today I've swimming in error and spelling mistakes filled cybersea!!!!!!!!!!

Its not a boring question as I have found it very intresting and very first of this kind. I always take care of spelling mistakes and grammar. Its a part of posting quality posts on Mylot and I believe MyLot only pays for quality, full of information kind of responses.

me too im having a hard time posting because i have to check my spelling every now and then.ofcorz i have to repeat it to check if it has a correct grammar.im really trying my best to have a good english.im also checking to other sites like dictionary.com whenever im posting..
