What is a car for you?

what is it, really? - A symbol? A wonder? A thing?
Status? Pride? freedom ?

Really what is it? For some it is a wish for freedom. Others see it as a symbol of status. People sometimes spend all their savings buying their dream car, and thing that once they have it the world will be theirs. Some kids of the younger generation think a nice car is a great way to meet girls, to have the interested in them. Some people think they will be respected for their car. Some people think people will like them for their car. Some people are balanced in their opinions of what a car is and what it is for, but still will spend some extra money on a car for its make or how it looks. what is a car for you? HOnestly to me it is what takes me from point A to point B. As long as it does that with safety and efficiency it's my dream car. But that's me:) So, do tell: What is it for you?

I think a car should be clean, but not necessarily a new car. I want a safe ride to and from where I need to go. Paint? Who cares, as long as it is a safe car and not falling apart in the middle of the road. I do not understand why people spend their last penny on a car when their family needs food or the rent paid. I would rather buy a car for $500 that is ugly and safe an know that it is paid for than to have a monthly car paymant of $600 for a car I have to worry about somebody stealing or me having an accident in.

My first truck was a show machine I loved it, lowered and tweaked awesome machine. I sold it last year to a 19 year old kid who showed up in Alberta in winter on a motorcycle. I had that truck for 12 years but it sat for 3 years undriven. I bought a sports car brand new my first year in Alberta for the speed, another great little machine mechanically it had body and trim troubles. My husband drives it now as his work vehicle. Now I drive a mini van, :( I like it but I hate being a mini van driver, I love power and a cool ride. I am trying to talk my husband into buying me a camero to fix up something big and powerful with lots of guts and noise. He wants a beetle to fix up small but fast when done right.

Hello.arkaf61,if i have money ,i will still not buy a luxury car,a cheap second hand car which it can work properly will be fine,i do not need to have a dreamcar to make other people respect me,for me,the car is just for taking me around and save my time when i am travelling. I am afraid i will be very unhappy if i have an expensive car but leave a scratch when i am parking, but it does not matter if i do it for a cheap car:P

I feel the same way. It's just a mode of transportation to get you from one place to another. I wouldn't care what my car looked like just as long as it ran and was in good condition. Some people judge you by the car you have. There's more meaningful things in life though.

For me a car is a really useful tool. It's something that let's you move wherever you want to go fast and comfortably. At the same time, i love cars, and not only as a tool but also as an appreciated object. It's true that many people think that a car is a symbol of status...and perhaps we all consider that a little bit when we buy one, but the main thing for me is buying one which is appropriated for your necessities and whose design you like enough.

A car is nothing a vechile for a family.Or if u r a corporate one or if u r having a expensive car then it may show ur status. So it depends.

A car is only a mode of transport, in my opinion. As long as it serves it purpose, I do not have any complain as to whether it is nice, classy or expensive. The bad thing though about a car is that it ferries me from one place to another at the expense of my retirement fund. It is a ongoing liability which keeps taking money from my pocket and not putting any in. It is an asset only when I can use it to attract bees and show off my social status.

A car for me is one that takes me to my place of destination. I consider my car a necessity since it gets me to where I want to go without having to depend on someone to bring me to my place of destination. As long as my car serves my purpose then that car is ok for me.

Same really it's just a car mines well battered after only 3 days I wrapped it around a post, it's dented from where my nephew rode into it on his motorbike. Then the local kids kicked it in. Oh well it's only a car. It still runs and gets me from A to B and back again.

A car to me is a means of travel. To get to and from work, the store, etc. I like to have a good car, one that runs well with no problems. One that is good in the snow, one that is safe for me & my family. Of course there are some cars that I prefer, that I would love to own, but I could not see paying for a car what I would reluctantly pay for a house. Some car prices are outrageous.

I really didnt know just how much my car meant to me until i didnt have one for almost a month. I felt caged like i lost my freedom. I had to depend on others to go places and could not do things with the ease i did when i had my car. Getting groceries and paying bills and going to work started to get hard to do cause i had to walk and depend on others to get around so i couldnt even do things on my own schedule but according to theirs which was hard for me. I got a car now though thank god hopefully life wont be so hectic now lol. It was just like someone cut of one of my limbs when i lost my wheels. And i am like u my dreams car is something safe and sufficient to get done what i need done.

Car for me is convinience for traffic.I never feel it as a symbol of status. Also i think that age is gone.I choose a car which suits my need, such as not a big one , because often i need to pass through busy traffic.I don't go for looks. But it should have a gentle look.I believe a car don't get you more status. But your car should be such as it should not decrease your status. So have a gentle look.

Car for me is a necessity. It helps to shorten our journey to some places. Its a status symbol for some that's why they are willing to spend a lot for it. Lucky people makes it as a collection as well. (,")

I didn't used to agree, I guess i was one of those people who value their car & it's appearence to much, I just got a brad new potiac grand am with the pretty interior and all that stuff with the huge price tag to come along with it, and low and behold 1 month later I was hit by an F150, on the whole left side of my car, SO yeah i definetly took it for granted cause now i have no car and I wish i had any car as long as it worked great!
