If you had to do without television or junk food for life, which would you give up and why? For me, I 'd have to give up the television. I would of course try to stay caught up online, but if not, hey..I'd just do without. But this ole gal can't give up her junk food for life!

I could give up television fairly easily, because I really don't watch that much of it to begin with. I probably wouldn't mind giving up junk food all that much either, but that would be more difficult because I really like cookies. :)

Finally, an easy topic from you..lol. I have just about given up TV. There are no shows I regularly watch. I still like a movie now and then, or maybe some sports, but as for mainstream TV, I can't tell Adam from Eve. And the junk food...there are many that I have cut back on, but a little now and then won't hurt too much. But then again, you're the nurse, so what say you? Chocolate Twinkies or lemon cookies dipped in peanut butter?

Oh wow, what a choice...I'd say the chocolate twinkies with a hot cup of coffee! But I'd rather have a piece of red-velvet cake with cream cheese icing!

I think I'd be more successful giving up my tv than my junk food. (Just try and take those Lays potato chips out of my hand...I'll probably be buried with the bag because I'll be clenching it so tight they wouldn't be able to get them away, lol) I don't eat too much junk food, really, but Lays chips are my downfall. TV? There's some pretty crummy stuff on there anymore, I'd rather watch re-runs of Ed Sullivan, or Andy Griffith, at least THAT was entertaining. Todays tv is too much s*x and violence, and the shows that are supposed to be entertaining have people often being cruel to others (like Simon, you know?)

I could give up either of them easily. My TV has not been on since my husband and I viewed a movie about a week ago. My favorite snack food is fruit so it would not be hard. We have not had the networks for over 3 weeks now and I dont miss them. All my favorite shows were on CBS so to not miss them is a good thing. I am sure we will miss it this winter though.

I forgot to mention that the movie we viewed was a DVD too. If it were not for BYUTV we would get rid of dishnetwork all together

Junk food, because for one I need to get healthy. Junk food is great, but not for what I want to do. There are many people in this life that don't eat it, and I'd like to be one of them. I'd rather be healthy, and besides what's better than eating healthy food in front of the TV than junk food. I would rather eat healthy and enjoy the TV.

Between the two I would think that the junk food is worse for you, so I would rather give that up. I would like to believe that I could give it up... even though I haven't yet! I would like to be a healthier person and I'm trying!!!
I don't watch a whole lot of TV, or at least not a ton on each day (I tend to tape things I want to see and catch them up as I can), but I would miss it if I didn't have it. And I know that I'd be healthier without the junk food.
So, final answer, I'd give up the junk food!

Well crazynurse I could very easily give them both up. I only ever watch the news, the bachelor when it's on and extreme makeover home edition, and I'm not partial to any. I never eat junk food so nothing lost there. Just don't take away my computer then the claws would come out and nothing short of a crazy menopausal Granny. My puter and I are pretty tight!!!LOL

Oh yeah, I hear you. Notice that taking away the computer was not in the equation!?! I too, could easily get quite violent if anyone came for my computer!

I would give up the junk food of course - since I don't eat junk food usually. And so, I would really keep the TV. Yea, I still get to watch TV! :P

What WOULD I give up? Junk food. What COULD I give up? Television.
It would be better for me if I gave up junk food. I would be able to replace it with healthy fruits and vegetables and drink more water. But in reality, it would probably be easier for me to give up television. With my lifestyle, I'm always on the run, so I end up eating fast food on the run (not good for me). I do'nt plan on it--it just works out that way. As for television, I'm not home enough to watch TV anyway.

Oh dang. This is a tough one! I could live without junk food, maybe. But, if I had to give up the tv I would be lost. BUt, then again, I could always watch my favorite shows on the computer!

Can't I do without them both, please, pretty please? I would be so much happier. If I have to choose, I choose junk food. TV gives me background company, and the weather channel. I need it. I do not need potato chips and pretzels, and gummy bears and milk duds. Shoot, I do not even need thin mints. Keep the chick o stix (remember them, we used to get them at the drive in) I will drink water or tea instead of pop, it is better for my bones anyway. I will make fruit smoothies with real fruit. I just need to get unlazy is all.

i think i would give up junk food because junk food is easy to give up, but everyday you have to watch television if you have nothing to do. it is kind of impulse to turn on tv and being entertained, right? but junk food does some damage to your body and make you ill if you continue eating it for a long time. so i think i would give up junk food rather than television!
