How many of you posting topics will answer questions of those who reply?

I have asked many questions in my replying to people's topics..but you know..very few venture to answer these questions.. Answering my questions or that of other reply-ees would only keep your thread more active..as each post brings the thread to the front.. Maybe you are not earning more for answering but you sure are showing you really care about your posters.. Sometimes it takes me much time..during the week..since my full time job keeps me busy all day; but I do like to answer questions..and like my questions answered too!

I always comment on any response I get to my discussions that i have started and always answer any questions asked in the response as much as I can. I really like to remain in touch with all who answer respond to my discussions and I request to add them as friends. I also noticed as you said doing that actually helps my discussion because it makes it rise to the top.

I tend to respond to people who ask me questions or make responses on my posts, as long as I have time to do so. Sometimes I think I get behind enough the people don't go back to check the comments, but most of the time they do, and it starts a real discussion. I do know a lot of times I have asked for some kind of clarification or other information on a discussion and had the original poster never respond to me, and it made me feel like I had wasted my time replying to them. So of course I don't want to make others feel that way about my posts! I'm a busy lady though! I have a full-time job, a 1-year-old son, and health problems that keep me offline sometimes! So I'll just say I do the best I can.

I think it's admirable that you do find time to come on; especially since you have a one year old son..What is his name? When will he be 2? I am sorry to hear you have health problems..I will remember you in my daily prayers;) Thanks for taking time to respond here..and hope you have a very good day today..+

You are so welcome.. I too find mylot .as my relaxing time..and that's probably why I skim over the extra long topics. I love to write and having to think too much when I write is taxing.. I love to just write spontaneously+

I consider mylot part of my relaxation time actually, and I have some very good friends here, which is why I continue to come on whenever I can. =) My son's name is Dustin, and he turned 1 on May 30! So he's just a little baby yet, though he's a little big for his age! It's such an exciting time of life, with him learning so many new things, but scary too in that once in a while I realize how fragile he still is. Thank you so much for including me in your prayers, it is much appreciated. Right now I'm having a bit of a rough time with an illness called Meniere's disease, and I've been spinning with vertigo for over a week! But I have many wonderful things in my life, and I'm doing everything I can to get better, so I'm just trying to stay positive. Mylot actually helps me with that sometimes too, just by giving me people to talk to! =)

Sure. I normally go to those who respond to my discussions and make a few responses to show my appreciate. This is mainly after I hit my personal target but I do work on making the area up. ~Joey

As I have said before, I'm more of the "responding discussions type" than of the "posting discussions type". However, I always try to answer other people's responses to my few discussions. Only when one of my discussions gets lots of responses (let's say twenty, thirty or more) I answer the firsts responses and don't do it with the following ones. It's not easy to find twenty or thirty different answers to responses that are very similar one from another!

I agree it's not easy..but what happens to the others who respond..doesn't it interest you what they have said? I know I answer sometimes really late and days later..but I do try to go back and bring my discussions up to date.. I feel sorry for folks who respond and then receive no recognition for their contribution;)+

I try to respond. Sometimes I don't get the email notification that someone left a response. I don't know why. But that brings to mind that maybe I should go back and check. Thanks as always for starting an interesting topic!

I see that sometimes my email alerst resets to no alert and with 400 + friends..I have no patience to turn them on or delete the idle..I think if I deleted 40 a day who were not responding ..it would be great;)+

I always try and answer any questions that people have that come off from one of my dicussions. Its fun, and like you said brings the topic back up for others to see and hopefully reply more to. Plus it helps you to get to know your fellow mylotters more.

I try to go back and answer any questions people have but sometimes it takes me a while. I am seriously behind in my alerts. I have left replies, myself, and not gotten questions answered, but for the most part people have been good about answering any questions or just saying thank you if they were looking for advice.

I try to answer to the topics my friends post but sometimes if it's not relevant to me I won't answer. I have a lot of topics unanswered due to the fact that I am only a few hours in mylot and don't have the time to answer all the topics as I wish to answer. Bear with me, don't delete me as your friend!

I try to respond to the people that post in my thread. Like you have mentioned it does bring your thread up to the front and allows it more exposure and hopefully I will get more responses but besides that I also start a thread about things that I am genuinely interested in or happy to discuss so of course I love to talk about it. Also, I feel it is only polite to at least acknowledge people who have posted on my threads, it's polite. I mean when you are carrying on a conversation over the phone or face to face when someone says something or makes a statement we respond. Even if it is with only a fwe words such as "I agree" or "yes completely" and then if we don't agree that gives us a chance to respond in more length of which that poster can then respond back so on and so forth, it creates a real discssion that way.

Im pretty new around mylot and have answered all of the questions, if any, in all of the post i participated in. I think that in order to make a thread a hot topic you have to ask questions to keep it going. It's a lot like having a conversation with someone face to face- if someone just falls quiet and kind of shys away from the conversation- eventually it will just die out :)

I am new to myLot as of yesterday. I started a few discussions last night, and when I woke this morning, I was really happy to see I had some respos\nses. I took an hour, wrote back to everyone, answered questions, asked questions, thanked them, etc. I was very disappointed that after all my time, and all my posts, I was still only on 26 points. It seems they don't actually acknowledge your posts when you reply to someone in your own thread. While I will continue to answer people, becuse I enjoy it, and I like to keep my discussion going, and make friends with people, I do see that this might be a reason why some people don't reply to posts on their own threads. Personally, I think it's a silly system, the site should treat each post the same, in order to encourage us to extend our discussions and keep them going. Like I said, I was quite disappointed to see that my efforts were not counted, as far as the site was concerned :(

The points really are not that important absentstare..I know some people that is all they worry about is building a huge number by their name and filling their pockets with dollar bills. Taking time to really get to know people and hear what they are saying takes more time and dedication then most people care to have..but I think taking time and making good responses means more to the folks at MYLOT then the number by your name;)+

I don't do it that way..I answer those that interest me..I am not into trading..Not all my friend's topics are of interest to me..It's not fair to expect friends to answer all your topics..especially if the topic has nothing they desire to comment on;)+

I know how it is to be worn out at the end of the day..but I thought..I should give a couple hours or at least one hour a day to mylot friends..at night and then another hour in the morning..During the weekend I can offer more time;)+

I always follow my discussions responses. I answer any questions there are and leve comments to any appropriate replies. Even if I have nothing to return to a reply, I mark it + just through courtesy. I have deleted 'friends' in the past who never reply to their posts. It sort of defeats the purpose of the forum if you feel your contributions are ignored.

As long as it is a question in reply to my discussion, I do reply back. If it is in response to another's discussion, I may not reply if I have to browse through pages just to find my response. If only mylot provides us the page link to our response in their email notification, that would be great for us to answer questions to our responses.

They do this when it's your reply but no when it's on your discussion..it's strange isnt it? Perhaps it's an upgrade waiting to happen;)+

littlefranciscan, I try to respond back to as many as I can. Sometimes its hard for me to get on mylot. Especially on the weekends. So to some people it may seem like I am not going to respond back, but in fact it might just take me few days to get back to them. Then of course you have some responses that there really isn't much you can really say back to them other than "thank you" and mylot says in the guidelines not to do that. So if I have nothing more to say than just "thank you", I will not respond to them. Loved your topic and best of luck!

You are so right speedy1279..some responses dont really exact a response on your part..I think that is great that you do try to respond.. I was thinking of where someone out right asks you a question in their reply..after you have responded once.. It kind of irks me that people can answer my questions..but then again ..I fall short on this at times too:)+

I agree..I think if someone responds and you leave them hanging; it is extremely rude..Especially if the respondee has asked a question on your thread..;)+
