I think that when our mind is opened up to a particular thing then we attract opportunities in that area, just because we notice them more. For example if you buy a new car, you may never have noticed that model on the road before but once you have the car everyone seems to be driving them.
This is a psychological theory that the part of your brain called the RAS is open to thinking about a certain thing and so you notice anything relevant to it. This is why it is so important to read your goals every day. You will then program your brain to notice any opportunities which will help you to achieve your goal.

It makes perfect sense in my opinion. I've been using it to guarantee parking spaces wherever I go and it has NOT failed me since. The time of day or traffic never matters. Whenever I want a parking space at a certain location I tap into the law of attraction and say thanks before I even get it. I use the law of attraction for romance in my own relationship as well and it works. I have transformed the type of workplace I go to every day just based on this law as well.
The only portion that I have not yet mastered is attracting money however I'm improving on that.
The key to success with this law is APPLICATION. Try and try and use it and use it over and over until you become good at it. Start with little things like the parking spaces and work your way up to more important things in your life.
It's all about visualization with faith.

How does this differ from the 'normal approach' of hoping to get a parking space - everybody does that surely. The problem is this:
You start from home heading for a street with 10 spaces and 10 cars parked. This is entirely down to the physical presence of actual cars. Another non-LoA user heads for the same street - neither of you is going to get a space until a car moves regardless of your thinking patterns - simple fact. The only way you can make this argument is if you go existential and suggest that the cars are not really there -in which case you are not in a car and there was no point looking for a parking space in the first place...
You could say that your thinking persuades someone to move their car - what does this person do then - where do they go - what gives you the right to make them move their car?? If you argue that when you get good at this, you can create these type of scenarios then I would say that is quite subversive..

Thank you for response - I will continue to question, it is not in my nature to accept blindly, or to jump off cliffs hoping to grow wings - I would suggest that this is not the type of thing that people should be encouraged to do...
So, if you get to a street and there is no space, you drive around the block and hey presto, there is a space, this is not LoA it's just life...
Anyway, nice of you to respond - as you can tell I remain unconvinced...

You make great sense. However the LOA goes a step beyond logic. The attraction does not create INSTANT manifestation. I've noticed that if I wait until i reach the street to attract a space, it's not there...why? not enough time in advance for the space to be 'created' for me. What i've done in these cases when i would have forgotten, i simply circled the block while mentally 'creating' the space that I desired and as i return to the spot, someone would have left or just about to leave. it's not easy to explain. Now it is not the I am making the people leave the space. It is that in their space, they have completed what they were doing there, or they changed their mind or whatever it is it does NOT matter...if u get too logical it's a waste of time. Law of Attraction is about jumping over a cliff in hopes that you will grow wings BEFORE you hit the ground (figuratively speaking) You need to view the Secret movie a few times and it will become clearer to you. You'll gain an understanding that will clarify everything for you. If your mind is closed, then don't bother to waste your time. Continue in life wishing and guessing. That's okay too.

I don't think it's a load of rubbish at all. I think it makes a lot of sense. My husband and I are going through something right now, in which my positive but sensible nature is allowing a lot of wonderful things to happen, that would not have otherwise happened, because he is still learning how to be more positive. I am not positive to the point of denying life's troules, I am positive to the point of being able to cope sensibly with what happens, not allowing it to get me angry.

I admit to using the phrase 'a load of rubbish' to get a reaction... but if I'm honest I do believe that positive thinking is a self-fulfilling prophecy in many ways. I object to it being packaged and sold as a commodity, almost as a religion... I believe in the power of positive thinking as just that, but I don't believe that thinking something makes it happen. I think that if you go into an interview believing you will get the job, then your positiveness will persuade the interviewer that you are suitable, but not that you can force the interviewer purely by thinking alone and not by doing a good interview - does that make sense??

good question I believe anything that makes us view life in a positive way is definately not a pile of rubbish.Imagine if all of this universe were always in a positive mode there would be no wars no hunger,no loneliness.why because there is enough love, food, hapiness for everyone.maybie it sounds to good to be true or like a sales pitch but you know what..if it works then thats TERRIFIC,AWSOME,AND POWERFUL.

It sounds a little airy-fairy to me - although as you rightly point out a positive attitude cannot do any harm - I find the idea of auto-suggestion a bit lacking in substance - just my opinion... I was interested in what people had made of it, if perhaps they tried it and then either had wonderful results or a disaster??

Actualy i am a believer in the law of atraction, though i beleive that it is God the Creator who wants to "fill our cups" so to speak. The law when put into terms of a personal force rather than an impersonal univerce fits with the teachings of the bible and of Christ, Ask and it shall be given unto you, seek and ye shall find: ask beleiving in your heart that you will receieve and you shall. and I can go on and on about this. The law of attraction works becouse of the focus of your thoughts, this can be negative as well, if your thoughts are about bad things then don't be suprised that bad things keep happening for you. The law of attraction also works with the laws that God has set. Meaning God also wants something from us, Obediance. I know for most that word obediance is negitive but it realy isn't becouse he wants our obediance so that we will live long prosperous lives. The Laws of God are not to put limits on our lives, but are there as protection from ourselves. If we were to live unrully lives well then it would shorten our lives, make us sick and very un prosperous. God wants us to have full lives and injoy this creation of his, and few there are that know this secret of the law of attraction. many though practice it without knowing, usely for the worse. For example the people who concider themselves victoms, they will always be victomes becouse it is the world they have created for themselves. The bible says " as a man thinketh in his heart so is he. The law can not be beleived untill it is thouroly put to the test, and it can be done in a christian way.

I'm not sure that there is much I can agree with in your reply, but you have your opinion and I appreciate your input. I don't think the Bible teaches about positive thinking for 'properous' lives - I don't happen to think that wealth or even health are seen as real goals from a Christian perspective, after all it's not about the here and now, our health and wealth on earth are not significant.

It was probably not entirely right to say that health is not significant, what I was trying to say was that health and wealth are not the 'be-all and end-all' as we say. After all if man gains the whole earth but loses his soul... It's all very well to have health and even wealth and I do believe that God wants good things for us, but the first amongst those good things would be a place with Him in Heaven - now, how did this turn into a discussion about Heaven??

Are you a left brainer or a right brainer. That may be something you may want to ponder. I do not believe it is rubbish.
