Does your Internet connection work faster in the morning or in the evening?

I have cable Internet. My connection depends on the weather, if it is snow, there can be shut downs or slowdowns because the info-structure in my town's not that great. If I am running a filesharing program or other application, I can be slowed down, and MyLot is slow at all times. I feel for anyone trying to use MyLot on a dial up modem! Talk about an exercise in patience!

I connect to internet from both my company and my house. The company are using their corporate lease line the connection speed is superb so I seldom face connection speed when I surf net in the company. However, the broadband connection speed at home is only 512kbps and I could feel the speed difference during different time of the day. It's true that the speed is slightly faster in the morning, but it's still not bad at night. But when I open Mylot site, the speed difference between morning and night is much more significant. The peak time is at 12am. I have no problem viewing all the discussion content but I have issue submitting my own. It seems like it take forever for our own comment to appear in the discussion that we made response to. I hope Mylot could make upgrade or improvement to resolve this issue. Or else many will quit and I will lose a lot of friends in Mylot LoL.

I had no opportunity to check this point. Whenever I am working with internet, I always find it is quite fast, because I am using 256 KBPS unlimited Internet connection.

Hello, my friend! I have never noticed wether my Internet connection was faster in the morning or in the evening, but now that you mention it... It looks like I can use the Internet easily in the morning! In the afternoon it's a bit more full. But it hasn't too much difference. It might just be something from my head, and perhaps it works the same the whole day, but I have this slightly impression that it works faster in the morning. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

Very food question, I have the same problem with you my friend. I can work good with mylot every morning but in the evening its not worth posting discussions because my connection with mylot is too slow. Other sites is fine, maybe the line to mylot is congested, im not sure.

well i may not be able to explain the technical aspect of this,i recently changed to another service provider here and wow i remain fast both day and night surfing the net has been fun for me since then

Mine is always a lot faster in the morning. It seems a lot slower at night. I am under Comcast Cable I'm not sure if it is because there are more users at night or what.

I totally agree with you. I did notice these quite sometime ago. We are in the same time zone and this is the pick season common to us. So I try as far as possible not to surf net at this period. I rather occupy myself with some gardening at this time.

definitely in the morning too! I think that's because more people tend to surf the net at evenings so there's more traffic. unlike during mornings when a lot of people are still probably asleep and a lot do first their chores or whatever work they have to do in the morning so there's less internet traffic. and also in the evening people can't do anything much and usually they are just resting and waiting to sleep so what better way to pass time but to surf the net?? evening! ^__^

I have not noticed any significant difference between the speeds anytime of the day. It's always the same, I think because of an independent line. The same is the case with my friends too. none of us ever face a peak time or downtime. It's always the same no matter what...Although I have to say that some people have complained that this happens to them. But I personally never faced this issue.. bourne

My connection is better early in the morning. It crawls like snail in the evening. Slow till i can't log in to myLot most of the time. The place i live is an old area where the wire are mostly old and can't support faster speed.

although there is some improvement in many net speed during night because the offices are closed and so a lot of bandwidth is available but I particularly feel that there is not much difference in my Internet connection in whatever time I serve or down on I get a steady speed mainly because of a dedicated modern plus the service is very good. But the only problem is if due to some reason the connectionwhen they utterly sluggish in recovering from that but I guess it is the same with all service providers in my area.

I don't think there is any difference in my internet connection, but when I had a dial up connection, I had that problem, because in mornings it was really fast and sometimes from noon to 2 pm I was really slow, now I don't have that problem and it is always good, I am really glad that since I got my broadband my internet is doing alright, because it is really upsetting when you need to check the email or something else on internet and the page delay a lot to load, the only thing that I dislike about my internet connection is that I can't do leave my computer downloading something at night because somehow the internet connection goes down, I think that my internet service provider is cutting my internet when they figure out that I am downloading something at night, anyway if I restart the computer or the cable modem it will work again.

Hi myfriend, i think you are not the only one who have noticed that, lol. our internet connection also, it is much faster in the morning up to 11am, then from 11 am to 8 pm it is very slow. thanks and have a nice day.

I have a faster response in the morning time than in the evening. The morning is better for me anyway as I have more time then to be on the computer posting, checking email, surfing the net , etc.

it depends on how the internet was setup from your home to the "central office" (commonly seen and known as phone boxes somewhere outside/roads/highways/or even hidden)... sometimes, when there are simultaenous users of the internet, it becomes extremely slow. the reason why it works fast during off-peak hours is because there's not much of internet users during that time.
