How do you tip?

It all depends on the service. If I have to wait awhile before I get my drinks, or if she doesn't come around for refills, tip gets lowered. I know that they get paid most off of tips but... I am a paying customer and I should have the respect I deseerve, even if they are having a bad day or they got yelled at. Customer is always first in my opinion.

I usually tip between 15 and 20 percent but it does depend on the service too.

Whether it is right or not, restaurants only pay their servers a couple of dollars an hour. And, we don't know what has happened to the server earlier in the day .. did someone yell at them? how many people left no tip? are they overworked, having to deal with too many customers? is the cook giving them a hard time? So, I usually pay 18% to 20% no matter what .. just on principle. And, we sometimes give more for the tip. Tip was originally paid in advance and was an anacronym for "to insure promptness" .. as usual, things have gotten turned around .. a tip is expected and is paid afterward.

It's horrible to leave no tip, waitresses/waiters make practically nothing! I have never left under 15%, I think it's just wrong to do that to a server. Sometimes they don't have a chance to get back to your table to help you out. Even if a server has just a few tables, they can sometimes get so backed up early in their shift they may not catch up all night.

I think its best to leave a tip! We all know they get paid off of tips.Why not be respectful and help them out? Even if they dont stick around it might be that the last person also didnt leave them a tip! Or they could just be having a bad day.Just treat them with kindness and do you part! TIPPPPPS FOR ALL :)
