Where did you get your cats?

We got our current cat at a local no-kill shelter. Our cat before her (who passed on last year due to kidney failure)I adopted from the vet hospital that I worked at in college (he had come in as a stray).

I got my oldest kitty (Mittens) in a swamp behind Dunkin Donuts about 13 years ago. My kitten (Fenway) came home with my neighbor when he vacationed in No. Carolina. While driving, he went by a farm with a sign..."free kittens" I took one of them.

I adopted Waffles and Columbus from a shelter and recently acquired Mimi from one of my sister's coworkers. The man was forced to give Mimi up because his baby was allergic to pets. He had to give up a pet rabbit as well, and had planned to take Mimi to a shelter. But thank goodness, my sister asked me if I could take Mimi in and I agreed. Mimi's still adjusting, spending most of her time in the closet, but she does come out to eat and pee. So she's making some progress. Now if she would only stop growling!

I got my first cat, Ashley, (which is my avatar) at a pet store that takes in cats that people dump on their doorstep or takes kittens from locals. And I got my second kitty, Carlye, (who is only about 13 weeks old) at the Vet's office.

We have one cat and he's 11 years old now. We got him as a kitten from a friend of ours. Our friend had about 6 kittens at his house when my husband went to go look at them. 5 of the kittens were coming up to my husband and rubbing against his leg, trying to climb on him. Then my husband saw the other kitten all by itself, nice and calm. My husband said.....that's the one we want! LOL.

Yes, I didn''t "get my cats" they adopted me: as if to say: " you human...take care of me now". LOL :)

I got both my cats off a reputable registered breeder.
