What's worse having expectations that are too high or having no expectations?

Hi Minyang, it depends for me. If it is about people - than I try not having expectations, even though is not always possible. If doing something - than I set my expectations, and high, otherwise I will not be able to strive and achieve the outcome and results I'd like to achieve.

i guess it depends. i think it is worse not to expect anything at all than to have high expectations on yourself. because without expectations, you'll tend to stop aiming for things, coz one way or another expectations fuel your drive to go for the one you really want in your life. i think id rather fail and not meet my expectations and then try again than to live in this world not giving my dream a try at all because i dont expect to succeed or something.
but then on the other hand, id rather not expect anything at all from other people because they may disappoint me. hope maybe but never expect.

Well when we fail or when someone hurts us by not coming up to our expectations we feel like it is best to have no expectations at all but that stops us from doing our best and getting what is our due.
So, though having expectations can hurt some times, having no expectations can hurt even more.

I believe in not expecting much at all from others,as if I do, I'm usually disappointed. Yet, I expect alot from myself for some reason. I know I keep hoping that I'll find some really good folks out there..I know there must be some out there...I usually assume that people are good, and look deep into folks to see that good. If there is deception and selfishness, I just try not to see it. So maybe I do expect too much,I don't know.
