do you talk while eating the food?

If there is something to be talked about and people to talk with, why not? I know traditionists say it is rude to speak while eating. But that's not really practical and "efficient" in today's age. :P

Don't you think it's quite unusual when nobody is talking when sharing a lunch or dinner. My family likes to talk, discuss and share about everything from news. family events, church gatherings, birthdays etc. It's not proper to talk WHEN your MOUTH is FULL, that is the rules. But having conversation while eating is not bad behavior. I consider it valuable time to interact with my family and friends. Conversation is the point here, its not a military camp were nobody is talking while eating.

I often talk while eating food, because mostly i enjoy having breakfast, lunch and dinner with my family and friends and we discuss various issues over these meals! i of course dont talk with my mouth full.

It is always adviced not to talk while eating. But I do since at the dinner or lunch time there is a get together of all members and some one has to say something on the table and many a times it goes long and my mother scolds all of us and we finish the meals fast then.

no, I don't. It's my family's rule. Everyone always tells me that talking while eating is impolite. So I keep it as my habit since I was a child. Beside it, I think myself that when you talk white eating, people can see food in your mouth , and this's honestly not good

I do talk over a meal, but never with my mouth full of food. I don't think it looks very pleasant and would be rude to my dinner companions. I don't like to see others talking with their mouths full of food so you can see what's in there either ;-)

If I eat I talk between bites, I would never talk with my mouth full, because in my opinion it's not only disgusting but very rude.

I do not usually talk while eating food, because i like to fully concentrate on the taste ofwhatever i'm having, but if it is a family dinner, or a dinner meeting , then ofcourse circumstance recquires that i talk and so i do it. But it isn't done willingly.

No, I absolutely don't talk while eating food and I can't sopport those who talk while eating; for certain verses I have to concentrate on what I'm eating and I can't concentrate sufficently while talking, moreover I don't like so much seeing semi-digested food in others open mouths. I do talk while eating but try not to talk with my mouth full i speak in between bites. The dinner table is the only real place that my hubby and i get a chance to sit and have a conversation. So we are always in conversation at the dinner table while eating.

I do talk while I am eating sometimes but I don't like to do it. because I find it is hard to enjoy my food while I am eating.

i generally dont coz talking while eating is bad manners....but sometimes if something intresting striks my mind i cant control myself coz 4 me its tough 2 keep quite...

I somtimes do talk while eating food. But at most times i like to eat my food in peace as it is important to chew the food properly so that it is properly digested by the body. And even when i talk i make sure that i don't have food in my mouth.

I do not like doing that because I would think that I am grossing someone out and I wouldn't want that to happen at all.

No I dont talk while I have food in my mouth. I was taught from a very early age not to talk while eating.LOL So when I see someone doing that I get upset with them. And of course I must say to them its not polite to talk with food in your mouth.

I speak a lot when I am eating:) I think it's the best time for us to have a chat with another when we are eating.

I can not stand it when people talk to me with a mouth full of food, I think it is discusting to see in their mouth what they have chewed up!!! My mother does this all the time and I have to tell her not to as it really grosses me out! As you can tell from my reaction no I dont talk with my mouth full of food I always wait to empty my mouth before I speak

Hi alphine, Yeah, i talk alltimes when i eat..In our family we dont have time to mingle with each other..we share our day to day happenings in dining table..We used to commment about the foods we have..I feel bored and less interested if iam keeping mum while eating..Thanks
