Can you drive? was it hard for you to get the license? at which age is it legal to drive in your country? What is what you like and hate the most about driving? I do drive, and i love it, as someone i know knows ( :P u lol). I love the freedom and independence that it brings. About the cons, i don't like the aggressive element that it implies sometimes.

I passed mt driving test when I was 17 - that is the age you have to be to drive in the UK! I passed my test at the second attempt and have always enjoyed driving! Unfortunately I haven't been able to drive for the last year cos of my back problems - I cannot wait to get back to driving and the independance and freedom it entails! xxx

17? odd number don't you think? it's normally 16 or 18 in most countries...but brits are so weird :P hehehe. I hope you recover from your back problems as soon as possible, and yes, it's incredible how much independence and liberty it provides.

it was not that difficult for me to get a license...because i don't even get one..haha. i don't drive because i don't have a car. But i'm aiming to get one this year..and try to enroll in driving school. Purchase of a car here is not that easy...cars here are very expensive.so, it takes a lot of hard work to get one.

hehe, yep, easy when you don't have it, isn't it? :P Even if you don't buy the car, you should get the license anyway...it's useful for a big number of jobs and well it's good in general lol.

i can't and maybe one day i would (when pigs fly!) lol! but seriously, i have a feeling i'd be a bad driver so why endanger myself and people driving around me, right? Anyways, i know i have to learn sooner or later.. mostly for emergency purposes like when my husband is out of town. Over here in malaysia, i think the legal age for driving is 17. I think they should raise it to 21. Alot of hellraisers on the road nowadays.. :)

aww I don't think you would endanger anybody shemah, you just need to realize that this is a process of gaining certain skills and specially experience. At first you will feel insecure and clumsy while driving, but with time you will be able to manage. Give it a chance.

I am a very good driver. I started learning driving at the age of 15yo. In out country, it is illegal driving below the age of 18yo, and it was very easy getting the license. the most thing i hate about driving is bad roads, and traffic jams.

I learnt to drive at the age of 17, whch is the legal age here in the UK. It took me two attempths to pass my test - the first time I failed on reversing. If I'm honest, I do not much like driving - it is more a thing I feel I need to do, not that I particularly enjoy. I use the car for short journies like shopping, or essential emergencies like taking one of the cats to the Vet - certainly not for long distances or for pleasure. I am quite a nervous driver - I never drive fast and I hate motorways, so my partner does most of the driving, though he finds me very usefu after a night out, because he can have a drink and I do the driving!!

i passed the theory exam at the first attempt, and practical one at the second, so it didn't take me that long really. It's kind of hard to get the license in spain in comparison to other countries like the USA, where it's really easy.

That is somewhat of a raw point in my life. I can certainly drive and I got my license back home at 18. At that time back home the legal age to get a driving license was 21 and we could only get it before that with a special letter from our parents. I loved driving and my parents preferred me driving a car than riding my motorbike - Don't know why LOL - so once I got my license dad gave me a nice car and I loved it. The funny thing is that when I came here - at 24 - there were so many thingsthat were different and that I had to adapt too, that I never got my license here. First I wanted to have some extra money so we could get our apartment, then it was the money for the house, then the kids came and there was always a need for something else, and I kept delaying getting my license. I got my permit about 6 or 7 times throughout the years, but it has been so long since I drove a car that I felt I needed a few lessons just to sharpen my memory, and by that time whatever extra money we had was always needed to something else and there was never anything left for me , so I am now almost 50 years old and still not driver's license. I don't usually miss it that much - well I actually do, but just pretend I don't LOL The only time it really bothered me not having my license was when my marriage was on the rocks and we were thinking about divorce, and suddenly I'm thinking that I was going to be alone with the kids and no license or car. That really made me renew the idea of getting my license again but again things have been so complicated that I haven't done it yet. I am thinking that if I get my extra money from work I am just going to use it for my license, it is time to think about me and about spending some money on myself :)

Yes, I have driven since 1961 and I was sixteen years old. I have fond memories of my Dad's 1959 Dodge Royal? well, it was a big boaty car that had push button automatic drive..remember? course not...lol it could hold about four people in the back seat and four in the front seat but that was illegal and there was not seat belts or fuel injection..ha ha.just a carburator..and a big MOPAR Dodge enginee..I drove this car for many years... Then my Dad got a Dodge Polaris..it was cool too But I got a job finally at the Ford Motor Company and always to a good deal on a Ford Product. I was in quality control and they let me drive all the cars to check them out..Tauras and Sable were my favoriate but the F series trucks were not bad either. Now I am retired but I do not love to drive as I have to buy my own vehicle and insurance. Gas is too high and the people who drive on the interstate are not polite and in cities like Boston, New York, LA or Detroit...forget about it...it is a jungle.. I live in a small city in southeastern Michigan..called Monroe..and live close to Meijers and Walmart, Walgreens etc etc. so I do not drive like I used to. Plus my wife won't drive on long trips so I refuse too as why should I be the one doing all the driving? The car in America is not a joy ride anymore...the days of cheap cars and gas are gone with the good paying jobs in the factories. Still got a job? keep buying foreign products. I am tired and retired...40 + years working and I still have the same wife and since she is frugal also we have a nice nest egg...Save your money..you can't count on Social security and your factory pensions...

I learned how to drive at the age of 26 in halifax, Canada. I failed my test 4 times before I finally passed it. I come from Saudi Arabia where it is Illegal for women to drive or to be in a car without a male escort. When I first arrived here I was depressed and hopless about ever learning to drive as I watched 16 year old girls driving their cute little cars. I have grown alot here in canada and I now finally have the freedom to go where I want when I want by myself with no man or religious police watching my every move. I own a 2004 jeep Liberty and I love it!

Well, we know that I drive, and that I have years of experience over you, hahaha :P I love to drive with my windows down, feeling free. I like to travel alone but I can always make an exception for monkeys! Legal age in this province is 16. I only think it's too young now because my daughter is almost old enough to drive. The only thing that I also hate is the price of fuel. Oy. I do have fuel efficient vehicles, thankfully, but it still is expensive. I also dislike pushy people who insist that they have to drive.....

i'm glad that you have such a thing for monkeys, really. But you know what? i specially dislike moose who always think they have to drive cause of their sexy antlers, yanno? it's all animalistic...

Yes I can. I would say the first test was hard. But it takes time and common sense is what you need. I didn't pass my first test though. But I did pass the first actual test. I hate the merging thing. Gee, especially in the highway. Trucks makes me nervous too tsk tsk. What I love though is, I get to have a gorgeous car and I can go wherever I want to. It's cool!

Yes, the first time when i'm still learning driving it's my uncle who taught me to drive using his passenger jeepney lols, I truly find it very hard at first as i'm too scared and feeling nervous. For right now, i'm still having my student's license it's much more easy to get such kind of license here first before you can changed it to professional driver's license. And yeah, i love driving but i'm driving much more of defensive driving. :-)

I would love to drive a Jeep!! i have never driven one. Here there's only one license, but during the first year you gotta carry a special sign in your car that tells the other drivers that you're a beginner. Besides, during that year, speed limits are lower than normal for you, and you can lose your license more easily because they're more severe with speed tickets and fines.

I do drive and love to drive. I am a paraniod passanger and have lots of anxiety if i am not behind the wheel. I dont like other drivers that have no respect for the other person or ones that are not eduacated enough to be behind the wheel there are rules to driveing people!!! LOL I have had my licence since i was 16 which is the legal age to get them in the US some things have changed since i got mine about how long you have to carry a permit and drive with an adult but i pretty much think you can still get them when you are sixteen.
