Do you need your privacy???

I have to close the bathroom door when I'm in there, and I lock it when I'm in the bathroom off the living room - even if I'm the only one home. My husband is always commenting that one day I'll get over it and leave the door open - he does, in our bathroom off the bedroom anyways. He doesn't understand that I'd like a little privacy when sitting on the toilet. When my kids were little, it was different and I left it open for them and they usually joined me, or when they got older they would sometimes come in if they needed something. It was usually the only time that I had a few minutes to myself. Now that my kids are grown, I still "enjoy" this little bit of "me" time. I'll always close the door, and always lock it when I'm in the main bathroom off our living room.
Do you and your spouse/sig other close the door for privacy?

I wish I could lock my bathroom door. If my grandson is staying with us, he will have to come into the bedroom and prance into the bathroom. I tell him I need private time and he goes into the bedroom and sits on the bed all the while talking to me. What a distraction. If its not the grandson it is the cat who jumps on the bedroom door and opens it, claws open the bathroom door and jumps on the sink and starts meowing at me.

LOL, hubby sees what I go through so he not only closes it, but locks and barcades it! I on the other hand don't bother any more. The girls think it's closed to stop daddy from coming in anyway.

Sure, I need my privacy. In fact, I value my privacy very much. It is not that I am doing any unspeakable things but I just feel that it is my personal space and I don't want any interference.
So I do close my doors anywhere and if need be, I will lock them as well.

When I'm home by myself I leave the door open, but when my child and husband are home I close it. I guess I got lucky in the husband department, he closes the door everytime he goes into the bathroom no matter what he's in there for, even to shave.

my husband would leave the door open when he was showering, and since it's right off the bedroom it always woke me up. I'd have to get up and shut it so I could sleep. Now he closes it in the shower but opens it up to brush his teeth... Sometimes I can sleep through that :)

You are the same as me. When the kids were small I kept it open and they usually came in but now I close the door. Don't know about locking it though it all depends on how long I plan to be there and what I am doing. With only one bathroom in the house if anyone really NEEDS to go while I am taking a long relaxing bath then maybe I will let them in. As for my other half. He would just hang it out and go if he could. He has no shame about the bathroom and never shuts the door.

I don't lock it if I'm in the shower or tub, and I never let my kids do that either, it's dangerous in there... Fortunately we have more than one bathroom though, so they can go in another one if they need to.
