Notions of what constitutes a “just government” will be critical. Clearly “valuing wealth redistribution over property rights” cannot mean “always favor” or affirmatives will never win. Rawlsian Justice, Marxism, and other equalitarian approaches will be popular on the affirmative; while market economics (Objectivism, Rand, Nozick) will be popular on the negative. One good negative approach might be to argue that property rights create the framework within which wealth creation becomes possible. Therefore, property rights are a necessary prerequisite to redistribution of wealth.
