How old is your TV?

My TV was a house warming present from my uncle to my family 10 years ago. Since parents have rented out the house, i bought the TV to my place. It is a bulky Panasonic 21" CRT Television.
At times, i have to tap on top of the TV to have the screen display property, otherwise there is either no display or there are some color missing.
Flat TV like LCD and HDTV are getting common now, however since watching tv is not my favourite activity, i didn't spend on getting a new TV.
How old is your TV? Is it as old as mine?

Well the TV at my residence is like 5/7yrs old but my Mom has her favourite TV (that’s Panasonic too) which is around 12/15yrs old. She bought it with her own money and it was her favourite. Recently, Dad bought a Samsung (with all the latest features) and it finds pride of place in the drawing room and the old Panasonic has been relegated to the bedroom corner (where its yet to be connected). Mom’s absolutely crestfallen and you can often hear her complaining that the Samsung with its latest offerings are too complicated for her to follow. Some people just love old things and there is certainly a truth in the saying that “old is gold! “

I still have the old one my parents gave me one Christmas when I was 12 and I'm almost 25 now, so that's about 12 and a half years. Still works great mostly because it didn't get used a lot in the past. However that one's in the bedroom and I have a new lcd flat screen in the living room.

Actually the TV's were the only gift we got that year. The whole family chipped in for it because my parents and the rest of the family didn't have much money. They actually played it out as if we were not going to get anything at all. We actually opened coal before they brought out the Televisions.

MY TV is about 14 years old. IT's a 32" SOny and it still works as new LOL
I also have a 22 year old Sanyo that still works really well. It's a 21" and I have it in my daughter's room. It was never in need of repair and the color is great.
I also have a 27" TOshiba that is about 10 years old.
I had no problems with any of them and they still work perfectly well.

There were bigger ones when I bought mine. My husband's aunt bough an even bigger one just after mine. We had to go for bigger because our living room is kind of long and much smaller would be bad for my eyes.
It's been a great tv as well as all the ones we got. At that time we could worry more about quality without worrying so much about price. If it was now I couldn't do that:)

If I am remembering right, my t.v. is 12 years old.I got this t.v. because my old one was losing its picture. It was 1995 and I got a 13" color t.v. by Sanjo. It is hooked up to cable , so I don't have trouble getting a good picture.I watch a lot of movies on t.v. and my old faithful t.v. is hooked up to my VHS and my DVD plus the cable so hopefully I won't have to get a new anytime soon.

Our tv is very old because i can remember i was still in sophomore high school when we got it, and that was like 11-12 yrs ago. This is our second set. The first one we had was a 14 inch black and white but it "retired" in 1995. We had that one for 10 years i guess since i can remember we had it as far as i was in first grade.
Anyways, our current tv is a 24" sharp cinemaborg colored tv. It has a built in compartment for dvd/ vhs player, and sound wooper or surround system. I guess my parents are not fond of changing tv since the current one is still functioning well. I was browsing the net for a phot but couldn't find any. lol that really means our tv is super old!

We have two sets of TV at home. One was given to us by a distant relative last 1998. It is a surplus 14-inch colored TV from Korea. It has no remote control and everytime you change channel you have to do it manually. I hate to use it because it has only the VHF tuner (from 1-13)and you can't watch UHF channels, or those programs from channels 14 to 60. It is my grand daughter who actually uses this in her room.
The other set was bought three years ago and it is a flat screen 21" Panasonic TV, which is Hi-Fi stereo. It has an attractive silver chassis, with sharp realistic picture and virtual surround sound. This is the one we have in the living room for us to watch nice programs and DVD movies as well.

Last year my very old TV broke. So I bought a new one. The new fashion is silver design here right now. So I got one in silver finsh. It is a very small one. I hardly ever watch TV any more. I am always at my computer. I only have one TV in the house. That is plenty for me.

I am not joking :p
The tv is sitting in my room now. It is still functioning but you do need to tap on it occasionally. If you want, I can offer it at a very good 2nd hand price!

Nah, mine's not that old, i didn't even have my own TV 10 years ago!
Mine's about 3 years old now, it's an LG 40" (100cm) - wide screen, rear projection TV.
I have been thinking about selling it recently to get an LCD but i dunno if it's worth it coz i would lose a fair bit on it.
Eventually we'll get a big LCD & keep this rear projection for another room but for the moment, it does a good job so there's no need to replace it just yet!

the main one we have is almost brand new-less than a year old..the others in the house are of varying ages.the original living room one was probably at least ten,but it started losing color, everything was a reddish hue,so we replaced it.

My TV is at least 10 years old. Actually, I have about 3 of them and they are all that old. I have been planning on getting a new one, but I want a big screen and they cost too much money so I have been saving up. Too many other things come up instead however. :(
cheers,

My tv is four years old. It was my first brand new color tv ever. It is 21 inch as well. To me it is great. Before that I had a 13 inch black and white tv which I had for over ten years which was 20 years old when I got it. LOL I also don't watch much tv so these fancy flat screens and stuff isn't needed here. I got cable four years ago when I got the new tv cause the childern wanted it but I didn't have cable before then. I hardly ever watch tv thoughI do like to watch a nice movie now and then.

You are a good mama, allowing tv for children. Many mama's don't.
