Today my hubby was busy installing an icemaker in our new refrigerator and he was getting hungry. He skipped breakfast and is diabetic so I asked him if he wanted a sandwich. I told him we had bologna and pimento cheese, which would he prefer? He replied, that he wanted both. So I stacked bologna, a layer of pimento cheese and another slice of bologna for him. It looked good and I was curious as to how it would taste, so I made one for myself but with only one slice of bologna. I was surprised to find this sandwich very flavorful and a delight. I wonder why I hadn't thought of that combination myself?
Do any of you have any odd combinations or unusual ones?

The one that I did that really drove my husband crazy was cheese, pickles, and mustard. I started eating them when I was pregnant, granted, but still found they tasted so good I wanted them afterwards as well.
Another thing I've been known to do that people find odd is peanut butter and cheese sandwiches. =p
Gah, now I want cheese, and I can't have it anymore! Waaaah! (I'm sure people are sick of my whining about cheese if they've been following anything I say. I'll try to stop soon, I promise.)

Cheese and sliced apple is very good. Had it a lot in South Africa though I don't think it was a particular Africaans thing.
Can't get away from cheese can we! haha

My dad loves peanut butter, onions and miracle whip sandwiches. I personally cannot do peanut butter.
I do very little sandwiches because of dieting but when I am not dieting the snadwich you described sounds good on rye bread. YUM.

I like turkey, cream cheese and cranberry sauce sandwiches. I like to make roll ups with tortilas too. B.l.ts. are good in a roll up. My husband likes tuna salad & pizza sandwiches. LOL I don't go there. :)
