Do You Like Fireworks?

Last night my husband, myself and my daughter drove near a local park and viewed an elaborate fireworks display sponsored by Commerce Bank. It was quite spectactular and very loud. I wish I could have uploaded some of the photos from my cell phone, but my daughter tried and it didn't work. In any event, how do you feel about fireworks? Sponsored displays like this one are great and lots of fun to watch, but what about those that are illegally sold? There was a pizzaria in my area that was busted for selling fireworks at the same time they were selling pizza. Every year someone gets hurt and sometimes very badly by these illegal fireworks. Do you think it's okay for them to be sold or do you agree that it is very dangerous and only carefully supervised displays should be allowed?

I love to watch them and prefer the big public displays. I have nothing against others popping fireworks but I wish that parents would supervise kids. They get crazy and do stupid things without thinking and then end up getting hurt or hurting someone else. The parish next to mine just outlawed the sale of firewords effective 7-5-07 so this will probably be the last year that we have so many going off in subdivision around us. Our parish has banned them for years but when the next parish sells them, they sneak their way in.

Surprisingly enough, the man who lives across the street from me is a retired fireman and he gets them every year for his kids and grand kids. Unfortunately, the grown-ups are too busy partying to watch the kids carefully. It's a miracle no one has been seriously injured.

i love them myself..but only in displays... i hate people that will get one firework or a couple and annoy people with them.. they can be used for crimes as well...some kids put a firework in an elderly womans letterbox down my road and she had a heart attack..that was only last year i also hate them late at night...they get annoying at 1am when your trying to sleep

That is one of the cruelest things I've ever heard. Part of the problem is that malicious people get their hands on those illegal fireworks and do horrible things with them to hurt other people.

Hey ya me and my hubby love to watch the fireworks. Recently we went to Disneyland, Los Angeles, and got the amazing opportunity to see the fireworks there held at the Castle in the night. They were so amazing we have not really experienced like those before in our lifetime. Now we both are planning to go for watching the fireworks to be held here on 4thJuly, Independence Day!!!!!

Yes. Of course. I do like the Fireworks, for which I was fan from my childhood. There are some functions at my country, especially at my state and my neighbor states, where they do the fireworks for more than 2-3 hours together. It will be a lot fo fun on attending these functions. Not only that watching the firework is fun, but also that to be among those men when they do the fireworks, is also a good fun. I used to visit these functions with my family and friends every year and enjoy the full function.

My favorite firework displays are over bodies of water. I watched them over Long Island Sound and that was spectacular. Normally I just think they're too loud, if I could see them without the big bang, I'd be fine. As for the illegal ones, they get more legal the further south you are. I've been to a private fireworks display and the organized, sponsored ones are much better as well as safer.

We love fireworks all around! The displays are better because they're so brilliantly planned out and they're huge. Most of them are really neat looking! We have a park just down the road (back behind our house) that has a fireworks display on the 4th of July every year. We can go sit at the park, off the highway, or hang out in our back yard and watch them. Where we live it's illegal to shoot them off, but it's not in the next county. Most people go over there to get fireworks to bring home and shoot them. I don't really see anything wrong with it, but people need to be more careful. Carelessness is the reason they're illegal now when they weren't several years ago.

I also love fireworks display and i just enjoy watching it from a distant...but once i have experinced being so close to it and i have to look up to the sky to see them and it was really great...i witness many firewirks here in my city coz a celebration is just not complete without the finale of fireworks, it adds to the elegance of the occassion...in new year my neighbors buy fireworks to be used when the midnight strikes before it used to be so noisy and just plain annoying but now that people are aware of its danger and not to speak the high cost of it...we rather much prefer the supervised.

I love the sights, but not the noise, and I am beginning to really dislike some of my neighbors, they have been shooting off fireworks for over a month now, and I think there should be a law against it even out in the sticks where we live. But if I call the law, they say there is nothing they can do about it. As far as illegal fireworks go, bust the idiots who sell them and endanger every ones lives.

I love to watch the fireworks. All the pretty colors and patterns. Fireworks are kinda like snowflakes to me u will not find one exactly the same as another. I like some of the sounds to like the whistlers but it can be loud at times too. I really dont like the illegal sale of fireworks either you have to know what you are doing to set of fire works and it is not just the fact of hurting yourself u might hurt a by stander as well as yourself.

Yes, I do like to watch the fireworks displays that cities put on, but I don't like to shoot them myself. Last night the town we live in did a fireworks display after the Waterfest events of the weekend. We parked in a resturaunt parking lot and watched the whole thing, it too was spectacular and very loud. We were sitting in the bed of our truck and the booms were shaking the truck! Tonight, the small town that I grew up in is having theirs at dusk and we are going to go there to watch theirs. It has always been a very good one, we have been attending for 5 years now. I would rather do that than to be around a bunch of people shooting them off themselves. Plus, the displays are so much bigger and so much prettier, and I am sure much more expensive than what you and I could go buy!

I love to see fireworks. I do think that they are dangerous. You don't need to take a class to use them but they could be fatal. OFUI's are very common down south. Operating Fireworks Under the Influence. If you are going to use them, at least be sober while you do it.

Fireworks? i like that... definitely it should be done with careful management. What will happen without fireworks? life would not be colorful... The purpose of fireworks is for our relaxation and for enjoyment. It brings joy to mankind and you will feel at ease especially when you saw it...

I love fireworks. In Hong Kong Disneyland, there is a good firework display everyday before the dreamland closes. Its really fun because the fireworks is being synchronized by a music. From the downside of it, accidents could still happen since all fireworks are hand-made (since metal machine could ignite the fireworks).

I really like fireworks! =) Just recently my town had one of our local celebrations, for something called Bridgefest, and I was so excited to get to see the fireworks! The first few years my husband and I were together, we got on a boat on the canal to watch the fireworks, and it was really neat watching them over the water, with reflections and all. We haven't had a chance to do the cruise the past couple of years, but once our son is older we can't wait to take him for it too! The other fireworks display I really look forward to each year is held by our friends at the beach on Lake Superior. They have cabins there, and we all go out after the Fourth of July is over, and buy many fireworks on sale so that we can put on a huge display! It's such an event that the people who own the cabins nearby usually plan to be there so they can see it! I think that fireworks safety is an important issue though. My brother once injured himself rather badly with fireworks, but he was being very stupid in the way he was using them, and wasn't properly supervised by an adult. I know there are some fireworks that are illegal because they are just too dangerous, but I think that many of the ones that everyday people use are perfectly okay as long as proper precautions are taken. My friends and I have never had a fireworks injury, even though we put on big displays every year, so I think it just comes down to trusting individuals to be careful.

Only in supervised displays! But of course there are a lot of people out there who will buy and use fireworks themselves...This is the holiday that quite a few people find themselves in the emergency room with burns annd other injuries. Have a safe 4th of Jul!
