Accident with my mother

My dear myLot friends, I guess you think I've totally disappeared. Not exactly. Just my mother (84 in couple of months) called me to work on Tuesday, and said she fell down the stairs! Luckily the bones aren't broken, and she had her mobile with her so she could call my father immediately to come down to rescue her. Anyway, a leg and a shoulder are aching, and she looks quite blue, even her face. Everyone who has old parents does understand, what it means to me...

Well I am very sorry to hear this.I am so glad your mother had her phone with her and was able to call your father for assistance,Thank God they still have one another to assist them, alot of elderly people do not have anyone to rely on!!This could have been so much worse, they say most accidenst happen at home. She will be very sore for awhile, but te Lord was with her, no broken bones. She is in my prayers.

Thanks so much for your prayers, she recovered nicely. It took several months, though.

I am sorry to hear that. I will keep her in my prayers for quick healing. It is a worry when our parents get older.

Thank you so much for your prayers. She's OK now but unfortunately she has a stairphobia now... Of course, she doesn't admit it but she hasn't been out more than couple of times during all these months.

I'm so glad she's ok. It's tough to see your parent hurt.

well, i'm very sorry for your mother and you should take good care of her until she completely gets better and i hope that your mother would get well soon and i think some accidents cannot be prevented and don't be so blue or sad all the time.

Yes, I certainly do...and I expect a call most everyday from my dad (88 years young), but so far so good! He still gets around quite well, and is enjoying the new home he just built! (he did have some help there, tho) I did, however, get "the call" 10 years ago that my mother needed me. I ended up taking care of her the last 6 months of her life. I cannot tell you what a blessing that was! It was a chance to give back some of the love she had given me in my life!

It's so nice to hear that you feel that way! So do I but not many of us are sharing our opinion, unfortunately. Or they are sharing it in their words only but in the real life they are leaving their old and ill parents alone...
