I got a bulk system from mediastreet.com If you use a lot of ink it's a great deal, also you can get cartridges cheaper from them, and the quality is still very good.
To make the cartridges last longer you can set it to a lower quality print setting.

hmmm.. actually, if you set the print setting to "draft" or "low", it doesn't extend the life of the cartridge. it only makes the ink last longer. c',)

I just thought you were refering to the ink in the cartridge, as I have never had a problem with the cartridge itself going bad. Using the bulk system from media street, we have one printer using the same cartridges for over a year.

if you're referring to making the cartridge itself last longer, then theres no way to do so. if you're into refilling, you can use your cartridges up to 6 times. then you'll have to replace it.
if you simply want longer lasting ink supply, i suggest you get CIS (Continuous Ink System). its a system with modified ink cartridges, connected to an external ink tank via hose, and can hold more ink than regular cartridges. c',)
