What would your dream job be? I have been reading a lot about cryptozoology lately and I think I would like to do that or be an anthrpologist.

I wish I knew. I wish I knew what I'd like to for a living period :\ People always say "you'll figure it out eventually" but there's tons of people out there who retire and never did a job they liked. I used to want to be a teacher. I don't know why I gave up that dream. Probably because I had Black hair and tattoos and piercings and figured it probably wouldn't work out. I used to want to be a Farmer, until I realized I wouldn't survive because I couldn't kill my animals. I used to want to be in Culinary Arts. Hence why it was my major in High School. I realized that, though I love cooking, I'd end up hating it if it was my career and I didn't want that. I went to Broadcasting School...but realized that working in Radio was worse than Middle School. I have no college degree and I've been at the library for 5 years. I wish I had a future goal or even a dream career to strive for. What does a cryptozoologist do?

I wish I knew what I wanted to be when I grow up!:P I have been to college twice. I have a degree in Cosmetology...but it sucks around here. I like showy, crazy hair. My best friend always let me do mohawks and pink and purple hair on her. No one is adventurous in ol' North Carolina. I also have a degree in Early Childhood Education. I still like that, but daycares here aren't worth much either. I was actually Teacher of the Year in 2005-2006. It surprised me because I dress very unconventionally for a teacher and I was pretty open and honest with all the parents. I didn't sugar coat anything, yet my parents loved me and I think it was because I was honest with them. Lately I have been reading up on cryptozoology and now I'm hooked. It is the study of unidentified animals...like Nessie and animals like that.:) I so believe in aliens and Nessie. Something out of the norm, ya know. Break up the monotany of everday careers. I think Anthropology would be cool too. Ha! By the way...if I had ever had my own salon...I would have called it...drumroll please...'Curl Up and Dye'! How great is that???

There's already a place called 'Curl Up and Dye'??! They stole my idea.:P 'Little Shop of Hair' is pretty great too. I used to think I wanted to become an 8th grade English teacher, until my sister got to that age and I saw how smart mouthy kids that age could be. All her friends were like that. I'm trying to becomea writer right now, but realistically, I know I won't break into print anytime soon. I have been thinking about going back to school, but I'm like you. I have no idea what to go for. I dunno. Can I just be a slacker?:P I like being productive though. Life after high school came faster than I expected and all the things I thought I wanted to do suck.

At least you have degrees! so you can do something! Libraries like people with ECE degrees. We have a department called "Youth Services" and most people in that department have a degree in Early Childhood Education. I think I'm also against the idea of being a teacher because my mom and two of my aunts all work in school systems. My mom and one aunt are secretaries and the other one is a teacher...and I just don't want to be grouped with them! I think about going back to school, but I'm like...wtf for? I don't even know what I'd want a degree in! part of what I do at the library is working in the Marketing Department doing Programming related stuff. I really like doing it, but it's frustrating because, well long story short... they won't make my position full-time and my position is kind of in this "void" area anyway so I have to work in another department (2 part-time jobs = 40 hours a week) with NO benefits of being full time and barely making ends meet. I always thought studying serial killers and crime scenes would be fun. Being an expert on Nessie would rule! Do you ever watch the Style Network? There's this show called "Split Ends" where two very different hairdressers switch salons for 3 days. (if you haven't seen it) there was an episode on just the other week where someone worked at a place called "Curl up and Dye". That's a killer name though. I like "Little Shop of Hair".

Heck Cait, I like how you put some vested faith in my help to you, so I'm gonna encourage you on this one. Plus, if some internet macabre ogre can be a good e-psychologist, surely you'll make an excellent psychologist in the real world :)

You have very interesting tastes in professions. I imagine you are also an interesting person. My dream job would be a Sportcenter anchor on ESPN. I'm a girl, but I love to watch sports, and I know about sports than a lot of men I know. But to be truthful, I guess my dream "job" would be a wife and mother who rears a happy and healthy family. Simple dream, yes. But far out of reach for now.

Nothing wrong with being a girl who is into sports.:) I'm already a wife, which I love, and I am working on becoming the mother part of the equation. I guess I am interesting....I have some intersting ideas and tastes at least.:P

My dream job would be an interior decorator, but knowing me, I'd probably get sick of it...so my actual dream would be to be able to trial quite a lot of my list of "dream jobs". I suspect by the end of this exercise, I will be quite content with where I am at right now.

My best friend is an interior designer. I always thought that would be fun too. She is trying to get a job designing with a big furniture showroom right now. The only real problem with it here is that we live in a place where there isn't a big demand for designers. She likes funky designs and she doesn't get to do that often.

My dream job was to work with children in a school, helping them with special needs and training as well as supporting them with their school work, I would have been excellent with helping with their maths and English, I did train for 3 years and got all the qualifications to do my dream job, but because I am a guy there is a lot of discrimination with men working in women's jobs especially when it's with children. I have been unsuccessful trying to get my dream job and now I need the money have to get a boring office job.

I'm a preschool teacher and I have a special needs child in my class. He has a girl that does one-on-one with him. My close friend that works at the same center also has a girl with special needs in her class. I think it's wonderful that you want to do that, especially in a female dominated field. I don't understand why more men aren't given the opportunity. You keep on trying because I think that's great. Good luck to you!

A clothing designer or an interior designer? I would have liked to have done both at one point. My best friend is an interior designer. I think clothing design would be awesome though. Too bad Gwen Stefani broke into my house and stole my ideas when I wasn't looking.:P Ha! Just kidding.

I love animals too. I used to think that might be an okay job for me, but I think I might have a hard time having to put an animal to sleep. I guess it's one of those things you would eventually get used to though.

If you were worried that you might not be able to put the animal to sleep, I was worried that I might kill the animal and that I might pass out when I see blood.

Oh wow. I used to be a hair stylist too! I quit because the woman I was working for was stealing money from me and she was taking all the walk-ins, so I was having a hard time building up a steady clientele. It was a horrible first job experience.:P I was going to open my own salon, but I was a newlywed and needed money faster than what I was doing. I still do it for familt fomr time to time, but now I'm a preschool teacher and getting ready to open my own daycare. Being your own boss is great. Are you still doing hair?

That's great that you still do hair. I kinda miss it sometimes, but I love what I do now. My favorite memory was a hair show I went to a few years ago. It featured this one girl that did all this funky fantasy hair, and it changed my whole outlook on hair. I guess it made me bored with doing hair in boring old Caldwell County in North Carolina. ha ha. :)
