This past weekend I went to Party City and Target. I have a month old little girl and had to figure out where I could feed her without getting that disapproving look from anyone. At party city they have dressing rooms that don't get used often unless its halloween season. So I made my way to that area and there was no light so I had to leave the door partly opened to let some light in. I was lucky that there was a chair in the room. When we got to Target it was time to feed her again so I had to go to the bathroom stall and stand up to feed her. I felt bad that I was using up a stall for this but where else could I go? Yes I could of tried to pump but my breast don't have enough milk to pump and feed because I had trouble at first. So this was the only thing I could do. Wouldn't it be alot easier if they had a place to breastfeed your baby without getting the look from everyone around?

You are absolutely right about this. Nursing mothers have a very hard time finding a suitable space to nurse their babies in public places and having special places for it would cause a lot less anxiety for mothers.
One mall right near my house has, of course, two public restrooms right near the food court. They also have a third room, called The Family Room. In it there are three private bathrooms that moms can use with their children, and everything is placed at the height of young children so if mom is toilet training one of her children, then she has a bathroom just for them.
The room is also furnished with two changing tables and there are seating areas where a mother can go to quietly and privately nurse her baby. I've only seen this Family Room at that mall, but every mall should have them or at least a sitting area right outside of the public restroom where moms can go to nurse.

A friend of mine found this to be a difficult problem to solve until she made herself a pretty poncho out of thick lace. When Charlotte wanted to be fed she would sit herself comfortably and pull her poncho over her head to settle on her shoulders. It covered her down to her waist and she could then feed Charlotte in comfort, without the worry.

You shoulding have to feed you baby in a bathroom do you eat in the tolit no so why should other people think that is where YOUR child should have there dinner...but places should have rooms because there are many disapproving people...why should you or anyone for that matter feel uncomfortable...
