I just responded to a question about organ donation and things and I relized that I at 26 years old do not know my own blood type. Do you know yours? Should I ask my dr about mine? Is it important for everyone to know their blood type. You don't need to put out online what yours is I just wondered how many of you do know it. Thanks!!

I do know my blood type (it is B+). I found out my blood type when I got pregnant. I also got a double check of it when we did an experiment in Biology Lab last semester at my college. It is important to know your blood type, if you have ever been pregnant it is probably in your medical records. You can ask your doctor's office and they should be able to tell you.

Oh and if you have not been pregnant or you doctor's office doesn't have record of your blood type, you can donate blood and they will send you a blood donor card with your blood type on it =)

Yes I do know my blood type- I think it is important to know your blood type- that way if you are ever in an accident- you can tell them what it is- Or if someone is in an emergency and needs blood right away and you have their type—You would need to know what type you are-

I knew my blood type when I was a kid, when my mom first took my sibling and me for a Hepatitis shot. I asked her about it, as my mother and dad had a different blood type. This was just as a precaution, and it can never hurt to know your blood type. It's invaluable.

You should know your blood type. My blood type is written on my ID and i think our company do that in case of an emergency. What if someone met an accident and needs an immediate transfusion? It would be beneficial in the future.

I have donated almost 7 gallons of blood in my life time and I have a rather rare blood type that only abut 6% of people have. I know that If I had a transfusion I would have to make sure that they gave me the right type. Many people can receive my blood but I cannot receive but from a few other people because of how rare it is.
