Friends, just wanted to let you know that I have no internet at home. I can only gain access to the internet on a Tuesday for the forseeable at college.
I've had big big problems trying to sort out with my ISP which is British Telecom, no disrespect to anyone but when all their call centres are in India trying to relay across the problem with the hub/computer/technicalities of why the internet is not working is proving a massive headache. Not getting anywere at all, in fact I'm bashing my head against a brick wall.
If it's my computer there is a 14 day wait for it to be looked at because it's a Mac and the Apple centre is no where near where I live.
I may have to change ISP's YET again.
So I just wanted to let my friends know that I won't be around and not to worry.
It's driving me insane not being able to gain the internet!
Wolfie is howling mad!
Miss you lots x

Ouch that's a killer. I remember when I had to go to internet cafe for weeks on end and try to get one free hour at the library lol..That was a joke..trying to run a business like this can you imagine? No wonder I hadn't seen you around for a couple of days and the place isn't the same without our Wolfie is it? I actually managed to even do some decent Mylotting yesterday as I didn't manage to reach payout this month..but at least I will make something decent for August payout lol..I can do with it then as I will be getting ready to fly to my Beloved in Spetember lol. I do hope they fix your internet as this is the most frustrating situation for us internet avid marketers lol..

Hi Wolfie, I can sympathise with you greatly - I dumped BT last year as they were an absolute mare and switched to eurobell / Virgin, who have been really good to be honest! I haven't been around much myself but do hope you manage to get back online soon! Take Care

I'm sorry I missed your time on today, Wolfie.
I hope you get things worked out. If it's any consolation, it's hard to understand most telephone customer service reps over here too, for about anything...gas, lights, phone, ISP, dish net...and over here a lot of them have a terrible problem with interrupting. How ya s'posed to explain when they won't listen???
Miss you too!

I've been there. I feel for you.
You're watching TV and a commercial or even the news says "just go to www..." and you scream to yourself (or even outloud at the tv) I CAN'T!!! I was without internet for about a month and could hardly stand it. I was able to talk to customer service but they kept telling me "it's your computor." I finally had to reinstall windows then install the talk america cd. Good luck.

I don't blame you for being mad, I would be too. I think I would have to change my ISP if they did that to me. I hate when there is an interruption with my computer. Hope you get it resolved very soon, will miss you while your away.

I hope your back with us soon, I can understand how you feel, as I had problems with my modem a few months ago and it is a real pain not being able to gain access when you want to.

Oh poor Wolfie!!!! It would be enough to drive me insane!
And I am so glad that we here in the States are not the only people that have that problem. I agree...I mean not disrespect...but when I need customer service, why is my phone call being routed to India? Most of the time we don't understand each other. And it is not due to a lack of trying.
Hang in there Wolfie. We will be here when you get back and I hope you are able to sort out your computer woes before you loose your sanity or break your head on that brick wall. :)

I totally agree with you there, it's great that these call centres are training and offering jobs to people but I am sorry to say that when it comes to resolving any issues, forget it. I don't like the idea of farming out our jobs to be frank. It's a difficult thing, I like the idea of competition, but unfortunately these call centres are able to offer companies such massive reductions in staffing costs that so many are transferring out there. And that is in fact to the detriment of those people working there. If you get chance, there is a programme on BBC 4 which i caught by accident the other day, it's called Office Tigers, and shows what it is like working in an Indian call centre. I really felt sad for this group of people. Working 18 hour days, on a salary that is just slave wages.
I will miss your conversations on here, you always post interesting things, so you'll have to carry on thinking them up, come on, on a tuesday and just overload Mylot with all your thoughts and questions!!
Personally in your situation, I would cancel the contract and move to another ISP since there are so many available. i've been with the same one for 11 years, funny enough they have just been taken over by BT, but they are great and I get a backup dialup number if the broadband fails. Other than that I've had so few problems in that time, maybe once or twice a year - if that. Force9 if you are interested.

Aww wolfie. I can understand your need to howl. I had also encountered internet problem twice before. On both times, I was patiently using dial-up while simmering for days. In as much as I like to work fast, the dial-up can only give me a snail pace.
I hope your internet will be back in good shape and wolfie will be howling mad posting all over again, LOL.
