So it's the 4th and I have noticed that since I've grown up, I don't think of it like I used to, fireworks, barbecues, etc. I rather think of the fighting America had to go through to be America, Home of the Free. And now there are so many young americans (and from other nations) in other countries fighting for another country's freedom and I hope that they are victorious just as they were when we got our freedom. So to all the troops fighting for freedom, Happy 4th of July!

Very well said. Troops everywhere are still fighting for our freedom, and we should reflect everyday and thank them for this bravery, not just today.

Thanks, I got back in yesterday morning. Trying to get back in the groove here in My Lot, but haven't been able to get back up to speed. Vacation was great, the week went way too fast. At least I came back with a tan, went to the beach every day! I'm watching fireworks celebration on tv at the moment, but heading to bed soon, first day back to work tomorrow.

Hey Terri, welcome back! And Happy 4th! I was just outside with my husband watching all the fireworks going off in the neighborhood, and maybe I'm just an old fuddy-duddy, but my thoughts were about the troops overseas and I just wanted to start singing the star-bangled banner. I'm a very proud american! Hope you had a fun vacation!

That's what everyone should remember! Everyone should remember all of the men and women who have fought in every war since we became a nation. They are the ones that made it possible for us to have the freedoms we have today. We wouldn't be where we are today without those wonderful men and women. That includes my husband! Happy 4th of July and thank you for our independence all of you troops past and present!!

There are many controversial holidays nowadays, but this one is true and genuine and very important. Please give your husband a big hug and thank you for me. I do appreciate all veterans, past and present. And people wonder why there are so many immigrants in the U.S., if all countries were as great and proud as America, they might not want to leave their own. God Bless us all!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I totally agree with you. This country is so great. That's why people are doing anything possible to try to get in here. We're so lucky to have been born in this amazing country!
