Why do some men take joy in hurting women?
Why do they hit women and children?
What is the rationalization with this attitude?
Please discuss.

I think they just can't deal with the problems of everydays life alone. They want to do something with it. And then, the only people they see are their wifes and/or children.
They want to find a cause of their life's problems, any cause tends to be good. Like their family...

Well, again its psychological. They need an outlet, they need help or else someday hitting will not be enough.

i honestly do not know, I do not think there is anything good about causing others pain and would think less of anyone who were to disagree with me.

True, True. Tell me have you encountered this types of men before?
This is also the reason why I strongly urge parents to enroll their children to self defense class. Children will learn discipline, presence of mind and they have better chances of protecting themselves.

You are looking for a rational answer to an irrational problem...People that abuse feel powerless so must assert power over those that are physically smaller or weaker than they themselves...most men that abuse have been abused themselves and it was never addressed...so they are filled with rage and those that come into their lives pay the price...its a vicious circle ....never ever stay in this type of relationship ...thinking you are doing it for the children or that he will change...any woman in this kind of relationship needs to find help and make a plan ...its a very dangerous situation that often explodes if she tries to leave...no one deserves to be hit... not women not children and not men either...the one place we should absolutely be safe is in our homes...Dont put up with abuse ...get help and get out...

Thank you for your comment. I absolutely agree that no one should be physically abused especially children. I do understand what you said about vicious cycle.
For those who are abusive if you want to stop you need to seek help fast before its too late.

I think men that hit women and children are weak and cant control their temper and need some type of counselling. Some men are so insentive they wouldnt even know if you or the kids were hurting. They seem to keep alot to themselves which turns into frustration and anger. Then when it all gets to much they lash out at the poor female or kids. If men could learn to open up and talk carmly with out hitting or fighting and stop thinking they are Mr Mucho we may be able to get along alot better.

Thank you for your insight. I agree there are those that really would rather not hit or hurt women or kids but sometimes they just cannot control themselves. I do agree that they need counseling.
To those who derive satisfaction from abusing people they need no respect whatsoever and they should be dealt with the law severely.

I think because they don't have any things to do better than that. These kinds of men are only a part of all the men. Of course, their acts must be punished by the laws, other people.

Well....I think its a little more than that. It can mean they were treated the same way when they were young. It can mean they have psychological problems (sick in the mind).
It is important that this abusive people should be punished by the law.
The thing there is, do you think the law implemented right now is sufficient for crimes committed by abusive people?

They have a agressive problem or are insecure. I think they are wimps to have to hit a women or child.

I agree those people are wimps. To abuse and hit defenseless people are signs of cowardice in my book.
