I went to the gym today after a few months of abandoning the treadmill and submitting myself to cigarettes. I was not even half past ten minutes when i started to sweat and feel nauseous while using the treadmill. I found it very hard to breathe and i was looking at the people working out beside me and they were working the treadmills as if there lives depended on it and they were far more older than i was..it was a pathetic sight. My instructor told me i needed to lose 10 pounds and to quit my smoking. I wish i didnt start gaining all the weight again. The food i ate were delicious but now im paying the price..its the gym for me in the next few months.

You should of started at a walk with the treadmill. Do that for the first couple times you use it, slowly increasing the walking pace. I never actually job/run on the treadmill, always a fast walk but only after starting slow and working my way up. Same results but with less stress on your joints.

Yup, that was what i did during the first days at gym but it was s till a little difficult me, it made me gasp for air. Thank goodness my instructor was not that harsh, he only sunjected me to 30 minute walk on the treadmill. The others were doing an hour of running.lol

Walking, be it on treadmill or on road/path, should be fast enough to get the ole heart pumping but not so fast as you can't talk while walking. That's what my doctor told me. You should be able to hold a normal conversation while walking. Do you have any med. problems other than smoking that is making you gasp for air? Have you discussed your exercise routine with your doctor b4 jumping on the treadmill? I'm a smoker and now up to fitness walking level but never once have I had to breathe heavy while exercising. You'll never catch me running for my health. lol

you are absolutely right... our health is definitely our wealth and that's the reason why i always pray every single day to God for health... what's the use of having a lot of money but you can't enjoy it because you are sick??? i always try to take care of my health as it is my most precious asset to be able to work and earn money as well... good luck with your gym... i hope you will be able to lose some weight soon... all the best...

Very true. It is amazing how fast you will start to lose your endurance when you stop working out. It does not take very long! Good exercise and nutrition is the key to happiness and success! cheers,

I can not agree more with you, health is wealth.so many people say like this:when we are young,we earn money in the price of health;when we are old,we spend so much money to cure ourself.so to some extent, health is wealth.

Thats a very true statement, 'Health is Wealth, which almost everyone will and should agree. But, I can also say something like this. In the younger ages of man, the statement will be 'Health is Wealth', because man will earn the wealth and wont care about the Health.. In the older ages of man, its goes like 'Wealth is Health', because man wont be healthy at the older ages and need Wealth to get cure for his bad health. What do you say about this ?

You have a point, senthil2k. Yes, i see the logic. The sad part is some people i know work so hard to earn money but when they become stressed and sick, they use all the money they worked for to pay for their hospital bills.

Yeah you got it right. You should shed that excess pounds since the body is like a car. The heart is your main machine and your heart or parts of your body were designed specifically for its the normal mass. If your body mass will be increased its part especially your heart and with its veins and arteries will compensate to cater your needs of blood circulation. However their is a point where your bodyparts will breakdown that is why execess poundage should be avoided. True indeed to its saying "health is wealth".

You are right. But the sad part about the body is that if the parts that we have break down, we can simply buy automotive parts at the nearest auto shop. Unfortunately, its not that simple...

well, sad to say that in business and economics term, health is not wealth, do you agree with me? well that's true according to my research conducted and also according to my professor in College

I need to start going to the gym as well. I can barely run for 2 minutes before completely collapse. I used to be a cross-country runner and feel so awful about it. I encourage you to keep running on the treadmill, it is good to be fit, hopefully I can follow your footsteps and become more healthy, because in all certainty health is wealth.

You really should go back to the gym, i really hesitated so many times before to start getting fit. I was so lazy but now, seeing that exercise does not only make you lighter, it also makes you look younger and feel better..i hate the process but i love what im getting.
