How can a bird fly ?

I really wounder why hen cannot fly but birds can fly since they are same speieces.

Birds body is proportionate with their wings size. In case of hen the wings are smaller than the body's weight, so they can't fly.

I think the bones stracture beneath the wings that is able to make them fly and I think that isn't the same for every bird out there. And that is why some of them can fly and others can't.
