Strange things sold on EBay

United States
July 5, 2007 7:46pm CST
Here are the latest really weird things that people have actually bought and sold on EBay. It only proves my point that one mans trash (literally) is another man's treasure. Although, I can't think of what I'd want with some of this stuff! This came from one of the news station sites...so I'm assuming it's legitimate! All of these items came from Paris Hilton's TRASH!!! An empty can of dog food ...$305 A used toothbrush: $305 Two envelopes sent to her while she was in jail $510 An empty Coke can: $51 Idiot people who will waste their money on anything? Priceless. For everything else, there's e-bay

There was a major league baseball pitcher who sold his bone chips on ebay. He had them removed and decided before he was back with his team, he would sell his bone chips on ebay for charity. Once it hit the news, ebay took them off the site, saying it didn't condone the selling of "body parts".

Right before ebay closed the auction, the bidding had gone up to 12,000 dollars. Who knows if they would have come up with the money, but I'm glad my question will never be answered.

Do you know how many kids that $12,000 would feed? Or how many underprivelaged children could become involved in a sports program...or ballet lessons...or drama or music. I could go on for hours.

You know, my grandmother was Virginia Clinton Kelly's best friend. I wonder if she has a kleenex that Bill blew his nose on when he was a boy running around playing with my dad and uncle? Or one that we could SAY was the kleenex that he blew his nose on. lol

How about the people who stood in line to buy iphones, and some of them even bought other people's places in line. How about some of those same people dismantling them, just to see who made the components. I think it is a way of showing off, and a way of making ones self feel important. It is not for me, at any price.

One of the girls in our church works for the Cellular company. She said that the amount of calls to activate those stupid machines during her shift alone was staggering.

I agree these people are idiots . Oh maybe that is too harsh, they just have money to burn. And more money than common sense. You wonder why anyone would put those on E-Bay, but as I guess as long as people buy then other people will line up to sell it .

Hmmm I wonder if you saw a famous person, like Paris Hilton, and you ran up to them and just touched them with whatever object you happened to have, if you could then sell it to some insane fan for a bunch of $?.....I guess you would need proof that it touched them, but I bet if you got a friend to take a picture of the napkin of whatever touching them as you did it that you could sell the thing. Haha.

You are probably right. I think another friend said it best though..."A fool and his money are soon departed." Better their money than mine. I'd rather go to Sonic and get ice cream.

Here is an auction for a Paris Hilton G-String 'left in a limo after a party': http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280129552716&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2Fws%2Fsearch%2FSaleSearch%3Fsofocus%3Dbs%26satitle%3D280129552716%2509%26sacat%3D-1%2526catref%253DC5%26_trksid%3Dm37%26from%3DR7%26nojspr%3Dy%26pfid%3D0%26fsop%3D1%2526fsoo%253D1%26fcl%3D3%26frpp%3D50%26fvi%3D1 The STARTING price is C$1,200 and it has no bids at present (surprise, surprise!) The seller is Canadian and, on being asked for a picture, replies: "i dont have a dig cam but i will get one and send it to u on sun day this is real my frind have a limo cmp and he gave me a few itams from her i have a pair of Dior sun glasses and her top that she ghanged in the limo after the party b 4 she went to the air port." Thank you for Best Answer :) I checked this auction again today. It closed with no bids (naturally) but the seller has relisted it as: paris hilton G string left in a limo after party in toronto, one of a kind item.sold to me by the driver 100% real its stained and its for sale `` and the price is now $100. There are still no takers (and still no picture!)

I can't believe people actually think that this is really stuff from Paris' trash. It could be from anyone's trash possibly their own. IT is crazy what people will buy if they think it is from a celeb. Thanks for the post and have a great day.

I am still trying to figure out what you would DO with someone's empty dog food can? Wouldn't it start to smell? And if you rinsed it out, would it lose it's value? Lol!!!

that may be pushing it, but there were some really strange items on this auction. It's kind of disgusting when you read down the list. and then watch the video of these people going through her trash.

oh no, don't say bad words to others even though they are somewhat close to that but lets just say that they are or became blind to distinguish valuable from not, but i think the people or the person behind those ?products?, or things used by Paris maybe is just having fun or experimenting and then surprised that many people are really interested on it, or he is just faking the things which he already know that will be in great price value. I think people are becoming blind to see the difference of many things especially when their idol is connected, i mean they want to be their idols so to them to do, buy and whatsoever just to be like them or just have something from them even if it is very expensive, maybe let us just respect their decision cause they are, i suppose, are already grown-ups, because they are happy with that and we don't want to take it from them, just respect what they want, but if it becomes really over - that will be the signal for our entry, thanks...!!")

My problem with it is, that there are so many things that the money could be used on...and put to better use than purchasing empty cat and dog food cans and empty soda cans and used cotton balls and q-tips. And there is no guarantee even that these things really belonged to Paris. They could have been her maid's or the cook's or something.

No, the site even says that the garbage came out of her can, but they can't guarantee that it was hers. I guess my question is why would they want it anyway? A used cotton ball or q-tip?

i think they are really decided to buy it, and about the garbage of Paris, we really don't know if they are Paris's yeah, money there is really a big thing, maybe those people to buy should consult the people's opinion around them, i am really in need of money, and doing so for my happiness, i don't think so i will do that for my happiness cause my happiness is my kids, oh gosh, thanks..!!^^

Wouldn't it be nice if we could sell our trash. With five kids I'd be rich. What makes those people sure those things really belonged to Paris.

Sometimes it looks like people are paying good money for trash but it's just scammers. I was selling my mobile on ebay and the winning bid went to £500 but it remained unsold. Its that nigerian scam thing.Thats all

how sad. I'm sorry for you. I've sold several things on ebay and half.com (for books and music and such) and have always had good luck.
