This is easy, everyone roots for the underdog. Therefore whether it's an individual that happens to be the underdog or the team I will go against the grain. I personally could care less about a given athlete's personal agenda as long as that person isn't affecting my team. I truly just want to see them do something that makes me say "Damn, he's good!" So, I guess in the end I root for the individual, and secondly the underdog...

I saw the NFL logo and thought we were talking about football- I find it different for both sports-
In basketball- I prefer the team to a point- but it is much easier to win with a few star players- See Shaq & Kobe back in the day- With the Bulls Jordan had Pippen, Kukoc, and really a good team.
With football- It's s team thing- Sure you can have superstars- but unless you have a good defense, offense and special teams- you're liable to lose. I am a Steelers fan- look at our defense-- Our offense stunk it up and we didn't get far-

Well, it comes to sport or anything that requires a team effort then being in a team is a good idea.

In basketball, you can have a superstar play and save the day. But in American football, hockey, and baseball you have to play as a team. True the quarterback gets the praise or the blame in football but if his teammates don't work with him, they will lose. And with my favorite sport hockey, you have to play as a team. And you have to be able to play with all your teammates.True there are only about 20 players on a team, but a player's shift is about30 seconds so you may play with anyone from the team. and if you can't play as a team, you will lose. And the best superstar in hockey, Wayne Gretzy was a great team player.
