Here is my BIG pet question? How many pets do you own?

You sound more like a zoo than us. But my 3 year old son shows great interest in pets so we will probably be growing our brood soon. Right now we have two dogs, both muts saved from a dog shelter, and a fish tank in my son's bedroom. We have a large contingent of rabbits, squirrels and birds in our back yard.... does that count? We think they all hang around to terrorize my dog. She is an indoor dog who stands at the window begging us to let her out to chase them down. :)

At one time we had 3 dogs, 5 cats, a bunny and a dozen chickens. The chickens ended up you know where and then we had a fire and so only 3 dogs, 2 cats and memories are left Last year we had praying mantises that graced our kitchen window. They were so entertaining. My son would bring in snakes and crawdads. The deer would trot by the same kitchen window and rabbits were everywhere outside. I fed the birds alot too. We live in the city now and am waiting to move back out where I can have the critter haven once again.

As much as I love animals, I do not think that I can handle that many and that is why we only have one pet. A cat and she is more than I can handle right now.

Personally or in the household? I find it hard to divide up the cats, well except for the new roomie's 2. In all, including her 2 cats & dog, we have 27 cats & 3 dogs. It would be 28, but 1 cat went to her new home this morning.
