Days ago, US accused China of it's violation of intellectual property. Although Chinese government acclaimed that it have try it best to curb the infringement of IP, the protection of IP confronts is really a big challenge. Pirated movies are available on the street vendor. And many latest released movie can also be downloaded from any BBS or website. The pirated DVD for movies are quite cheap, which is one of the major reason why it is popular here. For example one DVD may only cost you about half a US dollar.
I know that buying pirated DVD is illegal. However, I can not resist the temptation of its low price. So sometimes I'd like to buy some of my favorite movies. The original DVD is too expensive for me to afford.
Tell me about your situation in your place. Have your bought pirated or downloaded it from the internet?

I do buy pirated dvd's, alot cheaper and the quality is very good too. I can't afford too to buy original ones =) If we want to enjoy movies at home, we the unfortunate ones have no choice but to buy pirated dvd's. If they want their original ones to sell they have to lower their prices to be affordable.

yup, just choose the one with high quality, wait about 2 weeks for the recent releases before buying so that it would be clear copy already.

honestly, i tried buying and renting pirated dvds before but got disappointed because of their poor quality, the picture itself and the sound. although there were good ones but i stopped patronizing them because i got no more time viewing them. i just watch free movies being shown at tv. if there are really good titles i usually go to the cinema and watch them.
i haven't tried also downloading any videos or movies from the the net although someone suggested me about limewire. still i have no time doing that online.

Hmm... if I say yes, what would you do? Lol... just kidding. Actually in my country it is illegal to buy or own a pirated CD or DVD. People selling these CD's and DVD's can be caught by the police and sent to jail. It's like selling black market items here. But yeah, the price of original CD's and DVD's are very expensive. Most of the time I will just borrow from friends or watch it with them at their house. That's I have been doing. But I am a movie lover, so my husband and I often go to the cinema to watch movies. It is much interesting this way, I guess.

We have people who sell pirated DVD's on the black market here in the UK and most of the sellers are Chinese. I have bought from them in the past, but lately I resist as the quality is not too good, but it is a big business and they are making a fortune.
The thing is, the companies make such a profit from DVD's and they are expensive to buy, I can understand why people buy them illegally.
I usually wait until a film has come out on DVD and then I download it from limewire. This is a great site for downloading films and songs. I know it is illegal, but it is there to be used so why not make the most of it.
I have downloaded loads of films that I put onto disc for my own viewing along with the latest albums of my favourite artists. They make enough money from people buying their products legally so I do not feel guilty. If they put the prices down, then maybe I wouldn't even think of downloading them illegally.

yeah, we're guilty of that, my husband has bought several pirated DVD's and now we regret it, most of them don't play on our DVD and now our DVD is broken..maybe it's because of the pirated DVD or maybe not.
But we made the decision not to buy pirated anymore,we agreed to sign up membership with the DVD rental nearby.we also ant to help and cooperate with the government on this endeavor.

Hey, I download pirated dvd's from websites quality for most of them is dvd print and of course for the movies still in theater the quality is usually camera-print which may not be clear but at the same time it can be pretty clear and difficult to tell the difference of it being camera-print of dvd-print. Me and my friends also have had our own business selling pirated dvd's $3.00/each. We however have stoped this now, we made good money from it but now we're just to busy with school. I belive that downloading or buying pirated movies is a wrong thing because inorder for the movie to have become pirated it first must have been purchased so the company producing the movie still makes some money. For the movies being pirtaed which are still in theaters company still makes money as the ticket was purchased to watch and record the movie. Please note I do not have anything to do with pirated movies anymore as it is against the law!!!

Yes, I have to admit that I have already download some movies on the internet, but not a lot. Maybe 2-3 that all.
But I never bought a pirated dvd. I will not give money to someone who will make money on something it just had to burn and after that to sell.
There is a lot of person selling that kind of movie in our flea market. But most of the time the finaly get arrested :)

Samoa does not have a copyright law as yet and they import pirated copies all the time. Sometimes they send someone into a movie theatre to record it, not a good copy but they manage it somehow.
My husband picks up a few when he is in Africa as they sell it on the streets for pennies or slightly more. Yup we know its not a good thing but it also means we get to watch the latest movies for very cheap. Until they stop this from happening, its not going to end anytime soon!

Yes, I've bought pirated DVDs and VCDs before. This mainly applies to movies I've just watched in the Cinema and ones that I want to watch again but aren't available in my country. I normally try to make it a habit to watch the movies first before deciding whether I should get it as a DVD. Banned movies like Schindler's List, Epic Movie and some like Passion of Christ can only be purchased/viewed from these pirates, as my country doesn't allow us to watch them legally.
I will admit to practising a double standard though. I would buy the original copies of local movies that I love, as I want to support them in their endeavors. It takes a lot to convince me to buy original movies.
