1408 is in Stephen King's Everything's Eventual, which is (as far as i know) the most recent short story collection that he has released. I really liked 1408, although it wasn't my favorite (my favorite was the title story, Everything's Eventual). I think that a lot of people over look Stephen King's short stories, which is unfortunate. He has several short story collections out, which include; Nightmares & Dreamscapes, Skeleton Crew, Night Shift, Everything's Eventual (there are probably more but i can't think of them). There are also two books out with four short novellas each- Four Seasons, and Four Past Midnight. As a side note, 1408 adds up to the number 13. Also, the room number 1408 indicates the 14th floor, which is actually the 13th floor in most hotels. Many hotels skip the 13th floor for supersticious reasons, and you will skip from 12 to 14.
