Does it annoy you?

I think one of the most annoying things is when you are trying to get a hold of someone and they do not have an answering machine. I mean is it just me? My boss doesn't have a machine and at times I have to call her to tell her I'm sick or what ever. My Mom has digital phone and at time it will tell me "you can not leave a message" And I get so mad at that little computer voice telling me that/ Her phone does a lot of strange things digital phone isn't all it is cracked up to be.

I never leave messages anyway. I am horrible at messages..lol. You would think at least your boss would have a machine for work purposes. I guess I am lucky I work in a 24 hour a day operation. Someone is always there to answer the phone. I mean could you imagine.. "you have reached 911, please stay on the line your call is important to us..." Or even better "if this is an emergency, please leave your name and number after the beep.. if you are hurt please visit your local emergency room..." LOL

Wow you have been busy lil miss 2488. When I worked on the phone all day the last thing I wanted to do was talk on the phone.

A lot of people don't like answering machines. They find it hard to leave the appropriate message. For instance, if they say "we are busy at the moment." the caller may call back numerous times expecting the person to come to the phone after having made her cup of coffee, or was in the washroom, etc. If they say, "We are not available" a robber looking for houses to break into, may decide to rob their house as they are not at home. Also there is the problem that the person on the other end is almost at the phone, and then the answering machine breaks in. Also they do not know how to program them. Does your boss have an email address? Perhaps you can email him.

I guess I am a bit strange. My boss is a woman and I do not have her home email. I usually call 2nd in command if I cant catch her. And she is fine with that!

not really about the answering machine. It annoys me more when they have a cell phone and they never answer it or they don't take it with them. At least you know something you can get her for Christmas.

Oh yes that drives me nuts too my hubby is always "forgetting" his phone. Drives me up a tree!
