If I enjoyed them, I keep them. I have 8 6-foot high book shelves crammed full of books. If I didn't like them, I sell them on eBay, Half.com, or in a yard sale.

There aren't many books I enjoy so much that I want to keep them. I mostly read from the library. But the collection is growing, I realise when I look around me. More books that I have special memories about and that's why I want them around. Watching, touching and maybe someday reading them again.
If the memories fades, or the interest is gone, I sell them or give them away.

I cannot bear to part with any of my books, especially if they are written by authors who I am particularly fond of and read a lot. My dream one day is to have a library/office in my house (convert the garage into one) but that is only going to happen if I win the lottery, write and sell a bestseller, or receive a grand inheritance. After my father passed away last year my mother said "take all the books you want". My father was an avid reader and I must have brought home about fifty books. When I will find time to read them, I don't know.
I have books everywhere and only the odd one will I give away, like if I have picked up a duplicate or a paperback that I'm not attached to.

Honestly they sit on the shelf and collect dust. I don't want to get rid of them because they are books, and I may want to read them again someday. I also occassionally lend them to other people to read, so they can get joy from them as well.

No, most used bookstores give you credit or trade, they don't pay for your books. I don't think the market is not good for them. I think the market is better for them than for new book stores because people don't want to pay the big prices.

When I buy a book I either keep it, or send it out as a Random act of kindness on bookcrossing.com. Or sometimes I will trade it if another user has a book that I would like to read.

I generally pass any books i buy along to my daughters or friends, but there are just some noone else will read, so I just put them away, and read them again a few months down the line. I currently have a bout 3 dozen books that I read over and over again when I get bored, or am ill.

I still have them, carefully placed them in my storage box. I planned to read them again and again. =)

The only author I keep is Mary Higgins Clark. Any other books I box up until I have a yard sale. Then sell them in my yard sale. I hardly ever donate books to the library or just give them away. But I have been known to do this a time or two.

I keep most of the books that I have read, in case I feel like re-reading them further down the line, or I want to loan them to a friend to read. Occasionally, though, I will go through my books and pick out the ones that I am unlikely to ever read or loan out, and I will try to sell them at a yard sale, online, or to a used book store. Failing that, I will usually donate them to GoodWill.
When I was in college, I took a big box of books that I knew I was going to never read again, and gave them to my favorite English teacher in high school, so that she could have a little library in her classroom for her students. They were mostly horror novels, but she typically taught a section on horror in literature (one of the reasons she was my favorite!), so I knew her students could use them.

Well if I liked a book enough to buy it and read it then I keep it. For a long time I just went to the library and checked out books, but I have started re-building my colection again. Depending on my mood I may read a book over and over again.

Right now I have more than a hundred books and I don't think I'm going to read most of them and neither are my siblings so I'm trying to sell them on ebay because they take too much space and i could use the money i get from them even if it's not much.

Of course, I have lots of books, so nowadays when I don't want to keep a specific book, I give it to a friend or trade it on PaperbackSwap.com. You can also trade hardbacks there. This is a good way to get books you want to read. I used to go to the library a lot, but I have moved so it's not convenient any more for me. I don't think I'll ever run out of books to read.
