How strange. Are your neighbors very close by? I have noticed before that you can use the remote in hotels rooms on the tv in the room next door. Seriously!! I have done it. We were in a hotel room and we noticed the tv getting louder and louder and louder next door. It was obvious the person had rolled over on the volume button. We pointed the remote at the wall where the noise was coming from and turned down the tv. We thought that maybe the people had been awakened by the volume and could have turned it down themselves. But a little while later when we were ready to go to sleep ourselves, we felt the tv was a little on the loud side and tried again to turn it down.... it was definitely us that turned it down then.

Well many years that happened to me and it was happening while I was watching TV well I found out a few Days later that a Neighbor had the same TV as me and when they switched their Channel it affected mine so I had to move my TV somewhere else lol
In your Case did possibly one of the Cats stand on the remote as Gissi does that to me quite often

That is really odd! Do you have the remote laying around and a pet in the house? My dogs have changed the channel before and it is really annoying. They will just lay there and look innocent...haha.
Other than that, a ghost?? I have no clue! I don't have any other explanations...sorry! Be sure to let us know if you figure it out!

Hmm. I've heard of this happening several times. I used to work for Dish Network. If one of your neighbors has a UHF remote that's programmed to your brand of TV, that could be doing it. Normal IR remotes have to be pointed at the TV, but UHF signals bounce off of things. Maybe you could see if your neighbors have one of these remotes and see if they can program a different code into it so this doesn't happen.

Oh, that's kind of wierd. Sounds like something's going on. Maybe the person that said your neighbors can do it with their remote, is right, if not, then do you think you have visitors?

We have wierd things happen where I work, all the time. They used to see a lady at night, walking in a red dress. One of my friends washed a red dress, several times, and it didn't belong to anyone there, she finally threw it away, and it appeared again, a few days later. We sometimes get our hair tugged, when there's no one around, and the other day, I was processing a new hire, and I laid a stack of papers down, and one of them moved over to the side, by itself, we both looked at each other, and I said "did that paper just move by itself"? She said "yes", and we went on about our business. lol We're kinda used to it, by now.

It happens to me all the time. It isn't haunted. It is the programing in the tv or the remote.

A dusty remote or sensor will cause this as well. I would
try dusting the TV the sensor area and the remote. I have
this problem and when I dust those areas it stops.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I had a tv that when you turned it off it would turn back on and then it would just keep going - turning on and off until you unplugged it- it was a problem with one of the wires inside and a friend fixed it- thats what may have happened when you moved....either that or you have a ghost! LOL

Haunted too? You mean to tell me your other house was haunted also? LOL Hey if it was maybe your ghost followed you--LOL--Your cats don't have anything to do with this do they? Don't laugh...I now have the sense to turn the volume off of my stereo...A few times in the past my little darlings would jump off the entertainment center but in doing so, with their back paw hit the on button of the stereo..don't ask how many times I'd be awakened from a deep sleep cause the radio would be blaring at high volume....LOL

Something like that happened to me once. It was so annoying. It kept flipping channels and then it would stop. I finally had a TV guy look at it and he said there was a short in one of the wires. It would have been cheaper to get a new TV (which I did). But it was really strange. I would be watching a movie then all of a sudden it would be baseball!
