Hubby and the Battle of the AC

I have an ongoing battle with the hubby over the AC. He will set it up, but rarely turns it on. For the past 2 years we had one that he would put in the kitchen window. It offered little relief because the kitchen is not centrally located. The AC only cooled the kitchen area (somewhat). Today I suggested he put it in the living room window where the cool air would be circulated by the ceiling fan. He huffed and puffed over the suggestion.
When I arrived home this afternoon I found that he did listen to my words and put the AC in the living room window. Upon entering the house I found it was significantly cooler inside! Battle won.

Once this nasty HHH breaks I am sure the he will remove it from the window. The $$ is too much for him.

In my house, it is the opposite. I believe in comfort, while it is the wife that watches the pennies.

I must not let my wife see this discussion. Heaven forbid she learns that men can actually listen to suggestions. LOL.

I am glad he listened and put it where it would do the most good. It has been quite warm lately. We had some storms and it has cooled down alot and is supposed to stay that way for a while. I hope they are right.

We had rain all this summer so far, until a few days ago.
Only...the rain is back again.
It has not gotten that hot...but, I do hope that it warms up so that we can finally get to go in the pool! :D

Heehee. Nice that your husband took your suggestion instead of being stubborn.
My husband is usually a lot warmer than I am, so he has more motivation to move things around to make our apartment cooler.

We broke down today, and ordered an AC unit. Will have it on Thursday, when the high is about 15 degrees less then it is today...but summer is not over yet.
It will only be used in extreme heat, it is just too expensive to use all of the time. And used mainly for sleeping.
You did not have a battle, see it has cooperation...give and take..next time you will have to give...so choose your battles wisely

we only have a portable AC and we put it in our bedrooom... we hardly switch it on as well as the electricity bill will jump a lot if we switch it on too often... unless if the weather is too hot, then we will switch it on...

Wahoo on winning that battle!!! lol I am glad that you are finally getting some relief from the heat. Our temps are so hot here lately too and we have little relief with no AC and only two fans. With it only getting a bit cooler in the evenings the house doesn't have time to cool down at all. It REALLY stinks. lol
Good win on your battle though!!! YAY!!

Hmmm, time to reward the hubby...physically or with a baked treat? Anyway, tis good that you have cooling on your horizon. Our weather has turned and fortunately so. I hope you can have comfort now that the air conditioner is where it can do some real good.

Don't cha just want to do a HUGE victory dance in his face singing, "I TOLD YA SO, I WAS RIGHT"? LOL, I wouldn't but man when I do win those battles with hubby I so want to. Yet, I know he has had many chances to do that to me, so I reckon it's best if we don't...keeps someone from getting killed I reckon, LOL.

Hahaha. Good for you! Sometimes we women have good ideas too. Personally, I prefer fans and natural wind over A/C. I get cold very easily and cold air makes my knees ache (I've got a knee disease that causes this). But, sometimes, when you live in a hot and humid area A/C is unavoidable. I'm glad you got your husband to see it your way. Stay cool!

I'm glad you won, and that he came to his senses. I have always had central air and heat. So, the all the rooms are the same temp. But, the electric bill is off the wall, so I cannot set it too low in this heat. Enjoy your victory sugar. Huggers.

Congrats on winning that battle!!! You have got to tell me how you do it! Win battles that is. Because I tell you what...I am the one that is always loosing and give up by walking away.
He is would just listen to me in the beginning, we would have far less problems. ha ha

Wow, you go girl!
I bet later after he huffed and puffed, he realized that you were right to begin with. And, when he later put it in the living room it was great that it did cool off the house!
I am glad that your battle was won.
I could not survive summer without air conditioning! :D

COngratulations on wining the battle :)
WE have a different kind of AC war going in our house. I am always feeling more hot than hubby. I usually have less tolerance for heat - even during winter. So I tend to turn the AC on and try to keep the house cool enough so I can feel comfortable.
Hubby on the other hand feels cold easily.
I can understand this. I really do.
However I've been trying to explain to in a very logical fact: If you're cold, you really can wear something else to warm you up. If you're walking around the house in shorts only, how about getting a t-shirt?
On the other hand... what else can I do. I"m already down to the bare minimum clothing, What am I to do, take off my skin as well? It's not like I can do that.
SO in his case he has a solution, on mine I don't.
Or am I wrong?
:)
