Why are you learning English?

In my country English is the second language. The first language is Malay. However everybody is required to learn English because it will help us with international communication and transactions. I learn English because I love the language. Furthermore I was born in USA and I have known English from the day I was born. Are you an English native speaker? If not, why do you learn English?

English isn't my native language but it's is the second language in almost all the schools here and is compulsory.Moreover, being a global language , knowing English helps in communicating with an international audience and in furthering your career.

In my country (SA) we have 11 official languages and it is compulsory to learn English, English is very important not just internationally but also to communicate in my own county because of the diversity. I am Afrikaans and here are the different languages in my country. I can read write and speak the following, Afrikaans, English, isiZulu,Sesotho, in the other languages I wouldn't even know how to say hello!:) isiNdebele,

In Bangalore one can choose the medium of language: English medium or local language. I chose English and it is very important that one should learn as many languages as possible to be as a skill required in the modern business. English is widely spoken all over the world and it is link language.

hi there, here in my country the Philippines, English is used as the language of trade and industry, it is mainly used in the school as well,that's why the percentage of filipino speaking english people is almost 90% in the city areas alone... I believe that english is the language of the world.. :)

I love to learn english. We are trying our best to learn english because it is very useful when you talk to foreigners. Every school teach students to learn english. I am not a native english speaker. I just learn this when i went to school.

I don't think we need a genuis to figure this out. We need english if you wanna strive for the big one's you know. English is the number one language in the world so if you wanna communicate if different fields in life then learn english cuz its a must.

well, most of the people learn english because they want to find a better job, and in my country, english and computer are regarded to be passports to 21st century and whatever you want to learn, english is an indispensable course and you are bound to learn it.

If you learn English you will also have access to a variety of better paying jobs as well. Since being able to speak the English language will make you a more marketable employee you will have a better change of getting a job that pays more. There are many career opportunities that are available to those who speak English and if you learn English you will be able to take advantage of these opportunities.
Yet another benefit of learning the English language is the social benefits that you can acquire. Learning this language will enable you to speak to many people since English is such a universal language and you will be able to make new friendships and have great conversations with people you would otherwise never be able to speak to. It is always helpful to be able to communicate with people in their own language and people will be comfortable with speaking to you if you speak English.
English is definitely a very important language to learn and the benefits of learning this language will last a lifetime. You will be able to improve your entire life if you decide to learn English. You will be able to travel and find a great job and enjoy a variety of friendships. A brighter future will be yours if you take the time to learn the English language.
