Do you wish you could live in another century?

I really don't - but it could be partly due to my lack of skill in history. If the past were like the movies - perhaps :)
The recent past ... perhaps. The 50s onward would probably be a good choice for different reasons of course :)
But honestly - have you ever dreamed of living in a different day and age?

Ah renaissance, this compares closely to a previous poster who opted for 1800s - 1920s in mindset. Different thoughts and moving through into new things. Love to see that first hand for sure.
Perhaps we could all go on a trip spending a little time in each of them? Wouldn't THAT make history class worth going to!

I practically wouldn't want to for the reason that I haven't really given this thing much thought prior to stumbling upon this question of yours. I love modern, and I love technology as much as I do like manual stuff, but I prefere having machine and electronics around to do the things that I am not as thrilled to be doing manually.
I spend a lot of time in my computer and online, and I find it really comfortable to access anything and everything.
I even keep my cellphone charged everytime I am to go out because I do not know if I can function without a mobile phone these days. I cannot even imagine how we survived the meet-ups before without contacting one another while on our way.
I do not abuse technology but then I find it really helpful in our daily life.
So if there is by any chance that I am to choose as to what century I would want to love, it would be somewhere in the future instead of going back to the past.

Oh now that brings up quite a different angle now doesn't it!
Although (much to my friends annoyance) I have yet to have a cell phone. I somewhat understand what you are saying :)
I think that seeing the future could both be bad and good. But if you take out all that "you could rip time apart!" stuff I think that this would be an amazing thing as well.

i would definitely like to have an experience of the next century but I do not think it to be possible this time.

funny, i posted a discussion like this several months ago...i am glad that i have gotten a chance to put my two cents in this area again! lol
i would love to live at the turn of the 20th century - the late 1800 to say the mid 20s...i think that a lot of exciting things happened then/along with a lot of new inventions...the world was testing its wings then.

Oh yes definatly! Everything started to move faster and get their momentum going for certain.
I'm glad we both find this subject interesting as well - I very much enjoyed the book "Timeline" and I think this is where the question came from. :)

I wouldn't want to live in another country but I would love to go and visit. Or like spend a week or month there.

Oh yes, that would be fun for sure!
Or perhaps spend a week per period for a year. Can you imagine how crazy that would be?
